Workaholics may no longer be a TV series, but it still describes an elite crop of actors who not only seldom stray far from the small screen, but at times seem almost ubiquitous.
Now is the time in TVLine’s Year in Review coverage where we celebrate TV’s busiest bees, those who appeared in multiple episodes of multiple shows, often punctuating starring turns with recurring gigs and or a gaggle of guest spots.

Hollywood’s sexual harassment scandals have had an immediate effect on the industry — and on TV viewers as well. As networks and studios are confronted with allegations of misconduct and assault by their stars, producers, and even executives, heightened publicity has also prevented them from sweeping such news under the rug.
Instead, from morning to primetime, broadcast, cable and streaming services have been faced with making big moves on some of their biggest properties. In the $1 billion morning show competition, both NBC’s “Today” and CBS’ “This Morning” fired key anchors. Netflix’s and Amazon’s signature, award-winning dramas are expected to return without their lead stars. Paramount Network planned to launch by leveraging the Weinstein brand — but that strategy is dead. And FX must now rebuild its comedy brand without the producer who inspired much of it.

Three weeks from today, the world will be enjoying Christmas and, more importantly, getting its first look at Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor. As the first woman to land the leading role in Doctor Who, much was made of her casting back in July as for many fans, the change had been a long time coming.
In a new interview with the Radio Times, outgoing showrunner Steven Moffat took the time to explain why – though he completely supports the idea – he never cast a woman during his tenure. First of all, he said that “it wouldn’t have worked” if he had replaced David Tennant with an actress back in 2010, as it was “too early.”
Moffat then touched on how there was a possibility of the Twelfth Doctor being a woman, before he got excited over casting Peter Capaldi.

Don't say that Louis C.K. isn't facing any consequences for the revelation last week of disturbing sexual misconduct in his past. Plans to release his new movie I Love You, Daddy were cancelled, and he was fired from the several series that he produces for the FX network. HBO pulled all of his material from its library and cancelled a deal for an upcoming special. Netflix also cancelled plans to produce a new stand-up special starring C.K., and TBS ditched plans to make a C.K.-produced animated series. Overall, it was a terrible weekend that doesn't bode well for C.K.'s professional future.

Louis C.K. is the latest celebrity to face multiple allegations of sexual misconduct.
The 50-year-old comedian is at the center of a The New York Times expose where five women claim he either asked to masturbate in front of them, or masturbated in front of them without their consent.
While the accusations in the Times date back to the 1990s, media speculation surrounding C.K.'s behavior started in 2012. C.K. has repeatedly refused to address rumors even as they've gained more momentum in recent years.

Louis C.K. is done at FX. The network just announced that it’s severing all ties with the actor, comedian, and filmmaker following his admission that the accusations of sexual harassment made against him in a New York Times article are true.
He’s currently producing four different shows with FX — “Better Things,” “Baskets,” “One Mississippi,” and “The Cops” — but “will no longer serve as executive producer or receive compensation” for any of them.
“Now is not the time for him to make television shows,” the company wrote in a statement. “Now is the time for him to honestly address the women who have come forth to speak about their painful experiences, a process which he began today with his public statement.”

The Elders have deplored in the strongest terms the decision of Us President Donald Trump to decertify the Iran nuclear deal as a threat to global peace and stability.
They noted that the decision flies in the face of official statements from the Us Defense Secretary James Mattis, Chairman of the Us Joint Chief of Staff General Joseph Dunford and the International Atomic Energy Authority that Iran is fully complying with the deal.
The Elders called on the other signatories to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (Jcpoa) – Iran, the United Kingdom, France, China, Russia, Germany and the European Union – to continue to do everything in their power to sustain the spirit and implementation of the accord.
They also urged members of the Us Congress to refrain from imposing fresh sanctions on Iran, as a step likely to strengthen hardliners. The Elders believe that, instead, paths for serious confidential dialogue...

Hillary Clinton, Paul Ryan, President Donald Trump and more prominent politicians are speaking out after a gunman killed at least 58 people and injured 515 others at a Las Vegas music festival on Sunday night, in the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
Ryan, Trump and others made public statements of sympathy for the victims while calling for national solidarity and support for the Vegas community.
But Clinton, along with former Vice President Joe Biden and former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, described the mass gun violence as the latest example in an ongoing pattern in America and they urged political action in response.

Now is the time when we’re in close enough proximation to fall premieres that networks begin releasing eye-popping posters for new and returning shows. To nobody’s surprise, The CW is continuing its proud tradition of churning out memorable visual feasts spotlighting its various DC TV shows. Just last week, we got a fresh look at the Flash’s new costume and now, we have a couple more for Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow.
First, let’s take a look at the one for Arrow. Bearing the tagline of “Live to Fight Another Day,” it’s probably making reference to the hell Oliver Queen was forced to endure in last May’s finale, and the tribulations that lie ahead. What’s also to be noticed is that a darker look is being favored, perhaps hinting that, like season 5, the producers want to continuing staying true to the show’s roots.

Though one of France’s most acclaimed actors working today, when sitting down to speak to Lambert Wilson, you could be fooled into think he’s from Britain, such is the accent in which he speaks; articulate and pronounced, confident in the English language. And yet in spite of that the actor still harbours little desire to move to the States and make movies for there, for in Wilson’s eyes – there’s no future for French actors in Hollywood.
Promoting his new film The Odyssey, where Wilson plays the esteemed explorer and filmmaker Jacques-Yves Cousteau – we had the pleasure of meeting him in Paris earlier in the year, as he speaks in-depth about the man he is inhabiting – and how he even sought advice from the subject, beyond the grave.
When offered a role of this nature – do you hesitate, or accept straight away?

Time for something fun. As we wait for ballots to go out to Academy members and final Oscar voting to get underway, why not play around with a hypothetical situation? Now is the time to do it, after all. This is something I’ve done from time to time in the past, which is to look at what the Oscar nominations could have looked like if you remove all of the actual nominees. Weird, I know, but hey, it’s fun. Plus, it’s certainly more apt than ever to do this in our new era of “alternative facts”, right? This isn’t a political post, but I couldn’t resist the dig at Donald Trump and company. Below you will see what these alternate Academy Award nominations could have been. As much as I would like to spend this column and all of my writings for the foreseeable future on what happened this election and its consequences, I’ll be returning to comics this week as this is what I and everyone at ComicMix signed up for. If I feel it’s applicable down the line, you better believe I’ll be writing about it here.
Moving on.
I’ve dedicated more than a few of my columns to the new Doom Patrol and to DC’s Young Animal imprint. Everything I had written about prior to today has been speculative regarding Young Animal as a whole. Now that at least one issue of all four series under the Young Animal banner have been released, I’d like to discuss my thoughts on the imprint so far.
