Entertining but slightly slow

I enjoy the films of Luis Mariano. He was good actor and singer. He also came to the united states in a concert tour. But today ,in the United States, he no longer remembered,Thanks to greedy corporate film firms. This was the first time I seen one of his films being a bit slow.Maybe because it the same situation. I was an extra in two movie myself.I guess this was so similar it looked slow may be?The plot Luis is a top movie star name Carlos. He's in location of Spain at an old hotel to do a musical similar to Luis Mariano musicals. The gypsy in this area are having a festival on their own.The director, played by J.a. Pierjack,I think, needs extras for the movies.Spanish actress Carmen Savilla and Conchita Bautista play sister who compete for a part. But the film director chooses Conchita, instead of Marie Louisa. One of the scenes rather slow start to spark for the moment when Carlos and Maria meet in a a shaded area .The songs they sing spark of the scene.Maria Learns that her boy friend, Raphael, played by Jose Torres,is hired to play the guitar singer. This makes her so mad she locks Conchita in the gypsy trailer and takes Conchita's place. The problem arises when the director hires, accidentally, a real gypsy king that the mock marriage in the movie of the movie becomes real. Both Carlos and Maria Louisa resents it and end up spending the night in a hotel room separate with companions Jean Tissier and Therese Dorney. Both Maria and Carlos meet at the baloney and they really feel for each other. It's when Carlos finance ,played by Claire Maurier, finds out that she breaks in the room throwing a tray of hot chocolate at them.Obviously Carlos had already explain the situation ,cause the next day takes ,a lot of Spanish dancing between Carlos and Maria. It seem s that Clair take up with Raphael.Well it turned out that the Gypsy king were fake and both Carlos and Maria were never married .The rest of the film shows the continued making of the film until both Maria Louisa and Carlos united again at the end of the last film take .It was interesting to see the portrayal of film making in then in nineteen fifties France ,The lights the technicians ,the extras, and the movie Camera props, but real camera, with an imaginary version of A.g.f.a color under the name Geva.I say it was fair,But I seen better Luis Mariano films.I could not find any old french reviews to see what the critics had to say back then.07/9/13
