    Donald's Internal Monologue : Dear Diary, It was a narrow escape. Though I was born when I kissed her, I died when we parted.

    [a bugle is heard playing First Call, and Donald takes his place dressed as a French legionnaire] 

    Donald's Internal Monologue : And yet, I live for a little while.

    Donald's Internal Monologue : February the 29th. Dear Diary, This morning was much like every other morning. And when I went out for my usual walk, I had no idea that on this day, I was destined to find the girl of my dreams.

  • Donald's Internal Monologue : And after a hearty meal, I went for my favorite chair.

    [Donald is about to sit down, but Daisy quickly sits in the chair] 

    Daisy Duck : [sternly]  The garbage, buster!

    Donald's Internal Monologue : I began to notice a change in Daisy. What had happened to this beautiful thing between us. Was this the wedded bliss I'd dreamed of? I was losing my identity! I had become a...

    [a wind-up key sprouts out of Donald's backside] 

    Donald's Internal Monologue : a robot!

    Daisy Duck : Cut the grass! Wash the dishes! Beat the rugs! Kick out the cat! Mop the floors! Dust the furniture! Water the plants!

    [Daisy's demands begin overlapping as Donald goes mad and the dream sequence ends] 

    Daisy Duck : Donald? Donald? Dreamer boy? Wake up.

    [Donald hazily opens his eyes, notices Daisy, screams, and speeds out of her house like lightning] 

  • Donald's Internal Monologue : Ah, I knew I was winning her over. I was invited to meet the family.

    [Donald comes to Daisy's door with a bouquet of roses and a box of chocolates. He rings the doorbell and is immediately sprayed with water] 

    Daisy Duck : Donald, meet my brothers.

    [Cut to reveal Daisy's brothers resembling Huey, Dewey, and Louie in front of the TV dressed as, respectively, a cowboy, an astronaut, and a Native. They each cover their laughter] 

    Daisy Duck : And this is my mother.

    [cut to reveal Daisy's mother who resembles the mother from Whistler's Mother, she holds an ear trumpet to her ear] 

    Daisy's Mother : Eh? What's the name?

    Donald Duck : Donald Duck, ma'am.

    Daisy's Mother : [reading Dun & Bradstreet]  Hmmm...

    Daisy Duck : And this is Daddy.

    [Daisy's father appears from behind a chair holding up paper dolls he just cut up indicating he might have a screw loose] 

    Donald's Internal Monologue : Ah, yes. They were my kind of people.

  • [Donald and Daisy drive off in their wedding car as Daisy's brothers stow away in the backseat] 

    Donald Duck : What? Out!

    [Donald leaves the boys out in the street] 

    Daisy Duck : [sobbing]  But I promised them!

    Donald's Internal Monologue : She was loyal. Uh, she was sensitive.

    [Daisy gasps as she looks at her wedding ring] 

    Donald's Internal Monologue : And had a wonderful sense of value.

    Daisy Duck : [examining the ring through a loupe]  Hmmm...

  • Donald's Internal Monologue : Well, with the honeymoon over, we settled down to domestic life, and got to know each other... uh, better.

    Donald Duck : Good morning. AAAAAH!

    [Donald runs away. Cut to a very drowsy Daisy with her hair in curlers, wearing a robe, smoking a cigarette and pouring her coffee] 

    Daisy Duck : Whatsa matter?

  • Donald's Internal Monologue : We drove directly to our dream cottage.

    [Donald carries Daisy up the long staircase, and he gets to the top exhausted, still carrying Daisy across the threshold] 

    Donald's Internal Monologue : Ah, alone at last.

    [Donald kicks the door open but is startled to find Daisy's mother inside] 

    Daisy's Mother : DON'T TRACK NO MUD ON THEM FLOORS!

    [She winds up a Victrola record player and listens to big band music]
