Too late for the twin.
dbdumonteil21 October 2018
This is a fairly discouraging effort; this is one of the poorest Dumas' book adaptation, the screenplay being thin and unexciting and directing lacking in any real energy; Most of the time is given over to the hero's amorous adventures :Raoul De Bragelonne, musketeer Athos' s son, back from a mission in England ,has found his love,Louise De La Vallière ,in the not yet Sun King 's arms and one of their friends ,Helene De Winter ,not kin to the famous Milady De Winter, secretly in love with him.Duels happen ,now and then ,just for the show, for it is supposed to be swachbuckling .

The real meat anyone knows (Mazarin wants to substitute Louis The Fourteenth's twin brother for the reigning king, the iron mask ) only appears in the last twenty minutes ,and it is too little too late .

Georges Marchal plays the hero ,Dawn Adams his love interest .They do not succeed in rousing the slightest enthusiasm.
