Over the last few months, we’ve heard a number of high profile collaborations come out of Cashmere Cat‘s studio. The Norwegian producer has been hard at work on his debut studio album Wild Love, and already we’ve heard the title track with The Weeknd, as well as his Selena Gomez pair up on “Trust Nobody.” Now he’s back with a new offering with 2 Chainz, Tory Lanez and Starrah titled “Throw Myself A Party.”
The track arrives as a hip hop influenced dance tune, led by varied vocal deliveries from the song’s numerous collaborators that range from rapped verses to sung choruses. Cashmere Cat starts the song off with a delicate synthesizer melody before introducing booming 808 beats and a flowing string section, bringing an upbeat vibe to the table that matches the lyrical content.

Cashmere Cat‘s forthcoming album Wild Love is one that we’ve been looking forward to with excited anticipation. The Norwegian producer has already unveiled some tantalizing teasers from the LP so far, with songs like “Trust Nobody” featuring Selena Gomez and Tory Lanez, and the title track with The Weeknd. Now, we have another high profile collaboration to savor over as a second Tory Lanez team up that also includes 2 Chainz and Starrah hits the internet.
“Throw Myself A Party” opens with a deceptively serene melody shortly joined by some heavily auto-tuned vocals that provide the song’s party friendly narrative. Taking influence from dance leaning hip hop, Cashmere Cat crafts a forward thinking trap backdrop behind the three vocal collaborators, delivering a catchy single with an upbeat, accessible production.
Cashmere Cat‘s latest offering will definitely have a wide appeal with its club oriented sound and indulgent lyrical themes.

If you haven’t already figured out that 2017 is going to be The Weeknd’s year, his new tour announcement might do a good job in letting you know. The “Starboy” star has announced the first leg of his massive “Starboy: Legend of the Fall” world tour that is set to kick off in Vancouver at the end of April.
Touted as “Phase One,” the first leg will span across North America, hitting various cities in the United States and Canada until wrapping up the run in Cincinnati on June 9th. There’s not many places The Weeknd doesn’t step foot in during this tour, so the second leg will most likely take place overseas when it gets scheduled for the summer or fall. Either way, given its dramatic and intriguing tour title, the production and theme of the shows are going to be quite the spectacle to watch.

After teaming up with The Weeknd on “Wild Love” at the beginning of last month, Cashmere Cat is back with another high profile joint effort, this time joining forces with former Zedd collaborator Selena Gomez and rapper Tory Lanez on a new single. The new song ranks among his most accessible credits like his work with Britney Spears and Ariana Grande, as he and Gomez offer up a radio friendly dance tune titled “Trust Nobody.”
The track kicks off with tropical chords and Selena Gomez’s distinctive voice as she spins a tale of mistrust and attraction. Light percussive touches keep a solid but restrained groove running beneath the production, affording a stripped down quality to the music. Tory Lanez delivers a hip hop verse in the second half of the song, cementing it as a radio friendly romp with plenty of potential to climb the charts.

Earlier in the month, Norwegian producer Cashmere Cat took to Instagram to tease an upcoming collaboration with pop vocalist The Weeknd, sharing an image of the two artists hitting the studio. Fans were understandably excited by the prospect of a mutual single featuring both talents, and now it appears we may have our first taste of their work together. The Weeknd posted a preview on social media of an upcoming song that some have speculated is the Cashmere Cat produced single.

The campaign to free Ukrainian film-maker Oleg Sentsov from detention in Russia has been taken to the European Court of Human Rights (Echr).
According to documents obtained by ScreenDaily, Sofia-based lawyer Yonko Grozev has been authorised by Sentsov to file a complaint on his behalf at the Strasbourg-based institution raising “issues regarding his arrest, pre-trial detention and the ill treatment to which he was subjected, shortly after his arrest”.
“With this letter I would also like to request the Court to grant an Interim Measure under Rule 39 of the Rules of Court, regarding access to the case file in the case against Mr. Oleg Sentsov,” Grozev wrote.
He added that since Sentsov’s detention in the Lefortovo prison near Moscow, his lawyers “have been ordered by the investigation authorities not to divulge any information about the proceedings against Mr. Sentsov. It feels almost unfair to rag on Pitbull’s video for “Wild Wild Love” featuring G.R.L., when it could be so much worse… but we’re not going to let that stop us. Pitbull, who, unlike my colleague Katie Hasty, I have a begrudging fondness for, is calling it in on this folktronica tune that tries to make “Timber’s” success strike again. This time, instead of Kesha, his co-ed counterparts are the members of G.R.L., an assemblage of hair and breasts and legs that that Pussycat Dolls' mastermind Robin Antin cooked up in her music laboratory. Pitbull, who co-wrote the tune with Dr. Luke, Max Martin, Ammar Malik, Alexander Castillo Vasquez and Henry Walter (yes, it took six people to come up with this with Martin sleepwalking through it), is clearly taking one for the team as he surrounds himself with the quintet as...
