Jane Russell's two brothers play the parts of Bimbo and Xano.
Modern sources also add that choreographer Matt Mattox substituted for Cornel Wilde during the dances.
An original screenplay was initially developed by Walter Newman and Nicholas Ray at RKO, but the film never materialized. Eventually Columbia wanted to do it with Jane Russell, but wanted changes in the script which Newman objected to. Newman and Ray parted company on the project and Jesse Lasky Jr., wrote an entirely new screenplay.
The story supposedly takes place in Los Angeles, California - but the envelope containing the X-Rays is addressed to Marco in New Market, Pennsylvania.
