Storyline
Plot Summary |
When Maria (Marlene Dietrich) meets Count Dino (Vittorio De Sica) gambling in Monaco, her losing night takes a positive turn. The two immediately take up with one another, but the affair is short-lived once Maria learns that the count is a compulsive gambler like her. Feeling the need for more financial security, Maria hooks up with a wealthy American and announces her plans to marry him. But try as she might, Maria cannot shake her fond memories of the count.
