When Doctor Joe McCord is on his way home from delivering Abe and Annie Pickett's baby, Ed McGaffey stops Doctor McCord in the dark and tells him Zeke is sick. In this scene Ed is clean shaven. In the very next scene, while Doctor McCord is treating Zeke in the McGaffey cabin, Ed is glistening with sweat and has a weeks worth of beard stubble on his face. In the next scene in this sequence, when Doctor McCord is leaving, Ed is on the porch asking "Is Zeke gonna be alright?" he is back to being well groomed and clean shaven.
Throughout the film, Ben is shown wearing two guns, and as Tony Perkins was left handed, whenever he draws his pistol, his left hands is correctly depicted as dominant. Yet at one point in a scene during Ben's search for the McGaffey brothers, his horse with Ben on his back, whirls around to reveal Ben only wearing one gun, and that being holstered on his right hip.
When the stagecoach driver rushes into town to report that they were robbed, there is a small trail of dust following each side of the stagecoach. When it comes to a full stop, the dust is almost completely settled down. Next they cut to a slightly closer view of the stage and surrounding areas, and the air is full of dust all over the scene, much more than the stagecoach ever caused to fly up.
In the opening scene, Hickman rides into town with a " body" on his pack horse. The dead man's arm is exposed, show bulging veins. This was obviously a live stunt man or an extra. Dead men don't have bulging veins. No heart beat, no blood pressure.
When Morg climbs up to the cave chasing the McGaffey brothers, there's a full camera shadow across him.
