- An Italian orphan countess, Katy, wants to be a journalist, but is dismissed from her work because she does not bring in hot news; she hears that young Prince Scedid is about to inherit the throne of his father, and that he lives an irreproachable life - actually so secluded that almost no one knows him. With her friends Simona and Barbara, she goes to Monastir in Tunisia, to set-up the Prince of Scedad and to take photos of him in some compromising situation that will give Barbara headlines in the scandal press. The English government is aware of a death menace against the future ruler of Scedad and sends three secret agents to protect him: Major Knicherbocker, Mr. George and Baron Philippe. The political enemies of Prince Scedid have paid two thugs, Pedro and Paulo, and a belly dancer, Sherazad, to approach the Prince and kill him. Neither of these nine persons possess a photo of the Prince, as he lives such a secluded life, and their conflicting enterprises and various disguises will lead to plenty of confusion, and daring situations. In the end, the three freelance reporters will not achieve their end, but they will find love in the arms of a Tunisian doctor and two English agents.—Artemis-9
- ISPCAR, the International Society for the Prevention of Crimes Against Royalty, such as mayhem, mutilation and murder, is worried that a Middle East group will attempt to kill Prince Scedid when, after living an irreproachable life in and graduating from Oxford, he is returning to his homeland via Tunis, Tunisia, incognito and soon to inherit the throne from his ageing father. Alas, many people are after him, and not for the best of reasons.
Kathy Sands (ELSA MARTINELLI) is an American girl who just inherited the title of countess from her Italian father. She wants to be a freelance journalist, but she was dismissed from her newspaper for only bringing in boring news. She hopes that with her young and beautiful friends Simone Frederick (GIORGIA MOLL) and Barbara (GINA ALBERT), they will get spicy photos of the Prince, who no one has photographed yet, and those photos will further her career prospects.
The three girls arrive at Tunis airport (in an Alitalia flight) and just outside they meet two English gentlemen, George (KLAUS BIEDERSTAEDT) a young man who impresses Kathy, and Major Knickerbocker (WILLY FRITSCH) a middle-aged man. They all happen to be on their way to Monastir, so they share the car transport.
At Monastir, they discover that they all share the same hotel, and by coincidence, their rooms are all in the same floor the girls sharing the suite #73. The girls meet a third English man, Baron Philippe (GIUSEPPE PORELLI), a nice young man who seems quite impressed by Kathy, and who had been waiting for his secretary Knickerbocker, and Doctor Fuat (RAF MATIOLLI), a young handsome man.
Kathy stays at the hotel, and so does Knickerbocker, but Simone and Barbara accept an invitation to a reception aboard a cruise ship next evening, escorted by their English acquaintances, George and Philippe. Later in the evening, Barbara feels a mans hand touching her bottom when they were coming up the ships ladder to the deck, over-reacts, screaming and convincing Simone to jump with her overboard. They swim ashore and go up to their room drenched in cold water. Barbara falls hill with flu.
Soraya (CHELO ALONSO) easily catches all the mens attentions when she is presented as Sherazad, and does her exotic dance at the hotels nightclub, her shapely figure lightly covered in the baggy, see-through Arabian trousers. She is eager to identify the Prince to have him killed by her two henchmen, Pedro (LUIGI GIGI BONOS) and Paulo (VITTORIO BONOS) saintly names that do not fit their Indian type of dress. Their spy action is conducted via peering through bedroom windows, cliff-hanging from the hotels first-floor balustrade, by car and foot chases through the large and empty streets of the new quarters, and the narrow and crowded streets of the Medina (Arab bazaar).
Doctor Fuat promptly pays a visit to Barbara, listens to her breathing back and front, without a stethoscope but following all the ethical prompts in respect to female patients. He is staying by her bedside more time than seems necessary to prescribe pills for the flu. Obviously, the young doctor is impressed by the redhead beauty.
Kathy accepts the invitation of a rich Greek man, Nikos (MASSIMO SERATO), to visit his yacht Alexander III, supposing that he would be the Prince. When she finds out she was wrong, she has been captivated by the romantic middle-aged Greek, so that she forgets the mission she had imposed on herself.
Soraya also thinks she has identified the Princes room, and places a time-bomb in the adjoining room, powerful enough to destroy both rooms and everyone in them. But the voyeur work was faulty, and the bomb is placed in the Barons Secretary room instead. Knickerbocker enters his room, is immediately irritated by the tick-tick of the clock, and sees the bomb; shaking, he places it in a handbag, leaves the hotel, goes to the seashore, and throws the bag as far as he can. He hurries back, but must hide against a sand dune not to be seen by Soraya and her accomplices. The three criminals hide quite close to him, waiting for the explosion at the hotel.
Simone goes to the beach alone, tries on some scuba diving apparel, and goes into the sea without noticing these people all dressed up laying against a sand dune. When the bomb does explode, everyone is surprised but Simone is the most shaken, coming ashore uninjured into the expecting arms of Knickerbocker.
More secret encounters, silly chases and hide-and-seek games follow, in scenic tourist places such as the ruins of the mid fifth century Roman Amphitheatre at El-Jem, where camel fights and a camel riding show were being offered. Local boys guide the camels, first two for a fight (cut in the English language version) and then ten camels in a riding and galloping exhibition (shortened in the English language version).
Kerim (ALY BEN AYED), a Tunisian man, 28 year old, arrives through the balcony window at Sorayas hotel room. Hes jumped at by Pedro, while Paulo looks on the struggling pair without much interest. It was one more blunder on Pedros part, as Kerim should have been expected he is Sorayas brother and the criminal brain behind Prince Scedids assassination plot. Kerim brings a smaller but equally potent bomb to finish the Prince. Soraya is forced to interrupt a love interlude with Knickerbocker as both were trying to extract information of the other
Kathy resists the invitations from the handsome and rich Greek yachtsman, Nikos, and later she receives an apology letter from Nikos confessing he could love her forever, but not marry her, because he was married with two sons. Kathy is so sad that she decides to return home in the next ship, and not try to get compromising photos of the discreet Prince.
Barbara is so much in love with the hotel doctor that she elects to stay but Kathy and Simone embark on the cruise ship to Italy. Knickerbocker and George run after them, reveal the Prince Scedids (HANRADI GHEY HOUHE) identity, and themselves as ISPCAR agents as well as Fuad, alias Doctor Seymour.
Meanwhile, at the hotel, Fuad/Seymour is making a similar revelation to Barbara and declaring his real love for her; still, he is too shy to kiss her. Knickerbocker returns to the port, but George stays aboard with Kathy, and they do kiss. Just in time, the car with the criminals explodes, due to the very last error of the man setting the time-bomb.
