Sex & Nudity

  • There's a large painting of a topless lady that's on screen for about a full minute.
  • A woman's nipple may or may not be very briefly and faintly visible. If so, it's quite subtle and it will most likely be unnoticed by most viewers.
  • There is one scene where a man unbuttons a woman's blouse and exposes a cross. However he's obviously looking at more than the cross and it almost seems as if his hand almost caresses in between her breast (no breast are shown).
  • When the dead woman touches the hand of a living woman to switch bodies, the way in which they react seems very sexual. ALmost an orgasmic reaction.

Violence & Gore

  • A woman is branded by a hot pole.
  • A bat is beaten to death. No blood.
  • Decomposing corpses can be seen.
  • Two dogs are found bleeding to death.
  • A man is strangled to death with rope. His body is later found hanging.
  • A corpse is stabbed through the eye with a crucifix. Blood is quickly seen spraying.
  • A man is thrown into a fireplace. His face is shown graphically melting in closeup.
  • A spiked mask is forced onto a woman's head, before it's pressed down with a hammer. Blood spurts out from behind the mask.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The film's gothic architecture, age, eerie music, and occasionally shocking violence all contribute to an uneasy atmosphere.
