- TriviaActor Roger Delgado has a small uncredited speaking role playing a sandal vendor in the town marketplace. Delgado was mainly known for playing villains, appearing in many ITC television productions including "Danger Man", "The Avengers", "Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)" and "The Champions". He gained wider popularity with his recurring role as the nefarious Spanish envoy Mendoza in the historical TV series "Sir Francis Drake" (1961-62) but is best known internationally for originating the role of the Doctor's arch-enemy The Master in "Doctor Who". Delgado played The Master for two years (1971-1973) and featured in eight series. The Master's story arc (and Pertwee's tenure as the third incarnation of The Doctor) were intended to have ended with a story called "The Final Game", in which The Master ultimately sacrifices himself to save The Doctor, but this story had to be dropped (replaced by the series "Planet of the Spiders") after Delgado was killed, aged 55, in a car accident while making a TV series on location in Turkey in 1973. Jon Pertwee, who played the third Doctor and was a close friend, cited Delgado's untimely death as one of the main reasons he decided to quit the series in 1974.

A Little Goes A Long Way
Charlie Drake became a star through his work on TV.Firstly on children's TV with Mick and Montmorency and then The Worker. His origins were in the music halls and his speciality was slapstick.Given that he was short and could sing one assumes that Associated British were trying to see if he could rival the box office success achieved by Rank's Norman Wisdom. Now I am not a Wisdom fan but Wisdom was far superior to Drake. It also appears that Rank spent more money on Wisdom than Associated did on Drake.Everything about this film is shoddy. The film is studio bound with poor acting and a truly awful script.Drake tries the facial tics that worked for him on the small screen but they are simply excruciating. If there was ever any humour in this film now it has evaporated so that the film is virtually unwatchable.
