Shot in 1958, not released until 1961.
The film was a major failure. Co-director Radley Metzger said of it, "I often thought theaters should have booked this picture when they wanted to paint the ceiling or change the seats and not disturb anybody, but they didn't even do that".
At the end of the movie, following the cast credits there is a theatrical re-issue trailer and a statement about the change of the title to: 'Passionate Sunday'. "After the critically successful opening in New York - in order to obtain bookings in commercial movie theaters - the film was cut, and, at the insistence of the exhibitors the title was changed to Passionate Sunday. The following trailer was produced for that commercial release."
