In 1961, the producers of You Bet Your Life (1950) wanted to begin syndicating reruns of the series. At the time, it was unusual to syndicate reruns of a series that was still on the air. So they stopped production on "You Bet Your Life" and created this series.
The show's two pilots are available as extras on the DVD set "You Bet Your Life: The Best Episodes".
George Fenneman was unavailable after the original pilot because he began hosting Your Surprise Package (1961). Recent You Bet Your Life (1950) contestants Jack Wheeler and Joy Harmon were hired to replace him.
The two known release dates, February 8th, 1962 & March 1st, 1962, each one was a Thursday.
