Jean Girault at his worst, far below the GENDARME series starring Louis De Funès, a couple of years later. Here, everything is corny, lousy, typically french run of the mill stuff. But it is on purpose, no ambition here. Spontaneously silly, I guess. The driving lessons sequences will be used later in the seventies by Jean Girault in LE PERMIS DE CONDUIRE. This feature is sometimes boring, but it remains not totally charmless.

Francis Blanche and Dary Cowl made far better work in their career.

And, I repeat, Jean Girault too.

I certainly will comment other films from this director, not very known worldwide. He was not Georges Lauter nor Edouard Molinaro.
