- Maciste: Don't discourage me. I've always fought against evil and I've always won. I'll win this time too. And I'll find that cursed witch.
- Judge Parrish: That poor fool's muscles and courage will never be sufficient. He can strangle the lion, but there's no man alive who can conquer the devil.
- Fania: You will never find her here... among the millions of damned... whose faces all bear the same brand of eternal suffering.
- Doctor: There, there is the tree that no one dare cut down. The people believe that it harbors the spirit of the witch that persecutes them. You'll have to destroy it if you want to free our village from her curse and save that poor girl who's condemned to die at the stake in a few days.
- [first lines]
- Judge Parrish: [reading] In the name of the king of Scotland, and with the authority as conferred upon me, I, Edgar Parris, justice supreme of Loch Laird of the kingdom of Scotland, on this, the first day of November year of grace 1515...
- Fania: [in the form of the old Martha Gaunt] Curse you!
- Judge Parrish: ...condemn hereby to be burned alive the sorceress...
- Fania: Malediction!
- Judge Parrish: ...Martha Gaunt for witchcraft.
- Fania: Curse you all!
- Judge Parrish: This woman, with her evil match, having had communion with the devil and other malignant spirits, has condemned many innocent victims to eternal damnation.
- Fania: Curse ye! Swine!
- Judge Parrish: Martha Gaunt, as the fires of Hell consume your soul forever, so shall this fire your body. And your ash be henceforth scattered to the winds.
- Fania: I know you, Justice Parris. This is just your revenge because I would not grant you my favors when I was young and pretty. Given in to your malice and destroy me in the flesh. But, remember, hate will take root in the soil and never will it be purged. Not for centuries! Not for eternity!
- Judge Parrish: Execute the sentence!
- Prometheus: Do you see then what you can accomplish when you have strength and courage governed by your own free will?
- Martha Gaunt: Something brushed my face.
- Charley Law: A bat probably. There are always some in these old castles.
- Martha Gaunt: But it felt so large.
- Charley Law: Well, possibly it was a large bat.
- Prometheus: You, you're wasting your time trying to help those who cannot be saved. And you've completely forgotten your true mission. You are under a spell which has made you forget everything.
- Doctor: The court won't change its verdict. The fear of the unknown is still too great for them to inquire further. And so she must die on suspicion.
- Doctor: Before you make your report, think of the poor women. They'll be tried for witchcraft and then burned.
- Burgomeister: Would you rather have this continue? Every day now, a new case occurs - each time more serious. Before it's too late, we must tear this evil out by the roots.
- Doctor: But do you really believe in the existence of the devil and witchcraft?
- Burgomeister: The women are going mad. That's my explanation. They're mad and the evil which you insist on fighting, with such obstinacy, is more than supernatural. It's devilish!
- Prometheus: Go, Maciste! Don't worry about me. You've killed one eagle, but millions and millions...
- [wincing in agony]
- Prometheus: ... of others will fall themselves on my body and devour my entrails... forever. Go away! Go away!
- Fania: Maciste's not you. He's strong and generous. And justice, and kidness, and love are the weapons he uses. And there's no power of evil that can defeat him.
- [last lines]
- Burgomeister: We thank you. You alone have accomplished a miracle and have freed the people of this village from a terrible curse. And peace has returned to us. Stay with us.
- Maciste: It's impossible as my destiny leads me to help other people. People who are suffering from oppression and cruelty all over the troubled world.
- Charley Law: Thank you.
- Martha Gaunt: Thank you.
- Doctor: Goodbye, Maciste.
- Judge Parrish: You can't look at him without hating him.
- Fania: Or loving him.
- Judge Parrish: You? Capable of love?
- Fania: Yes. I thought that was all finished. I tried to corrupt him, Parris. With my witchcraft and charm. But he conquered everything, even me.
