The Hills alum Heidi Montag has been very public with her pregnancy thus far, so it's not surprising that she would throw herself a big party with lots of friends to celebrate her impending motherhood. The party happened last weekend in Venice, California, and even if Heidi's former Hills castmates couldn't make it, there were still plenty of enthusiastic well-wishers on hand.
Via Us Weekly.
Ready or not, here he comes! Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt gathered friends and family on Saturday, September 9, at Venice, California's 800Main to celebrate their baby boy's October arrival. (Prior engagements unfortunately meant fellow Hills alums Kristin Cavallari and Audrina Patridge had to RSVP no.) "It was so nice to bring together newer friends, old friends and family," Montag tells Us Weekly exclusively. "I was on cloud nine."

Say what you want about Steven Moffat – and there are certainly a lot of opinions out there on him – but he’s done a damn fine job with Doctor Who during his time as showrunner.
Known for storylines that were always a bit too complex but enough beautifully written monologues and truly inspired episodes that more than made up for that, Moffat’s definitely had his fare share of critics over the years. On the whole, though, he’s done some excellent work on Doctor Who and has been instrumental in bringing it the level of worldwide recognition it now has, shepherding the show through arguably its most globally popular period and ensuring that the modern series will continue on in rude health after he steps down.
But of all the things he achieved while calling the shots, which is Moffat most proud of? In a recent interview with Digital Spy,...

If Doctor Who were to take on the challenge of broadcasting a future episode live, what might be involved?
It’s all change in the world of Doctor Who at the moment. Ahead of his final series in the role, we look back at how Peter Capaldi has left his mark on Doctor Who and fandom.
“Everything ends, and it’s always sad. But everything begins again too, and that’s always happy.”
Well, it's that time again. Peter Capaldi has confirmed that Series 10 of Doctor Who will be his last as the Twelfth Doctor and before the year is out, we'll be looking at number 13. Speculation about who will be cast as the next Doctor usually begins anew the day after one has been announced, and will only intensify in the next few weeks and months, but let's not forget what Capaldi has achieved in the role so far.
Immediately taking umbrage with his new kidneys at the end of The Time Of The Doctor, the Twelfth Doctor is usually characterised as a grumpier and less cuddly version...

Doctor Who fans woke up to the news this morning that Peter Capaldi, the show’s twelfth incarnation of The Doctor, is leaving the show. His departure is not entirely unexpected, as it coincides with the exit of the showrunner Steven Moffat, who has been with the show since Matt Smith took over the role.
It is bittersweet ending for Capaldi’s Doctor, who had to follow the double act of the aforementioned Smith and David Tennant. The show struggled to find its feet with Capaldi initially, however under Capaldi’s reign the show has seen some of its finest hours. We loved his entanglements with Missy, and his one man show Heaven Sent from Series Nine is one of the best episodes of the show’s entire run.

Doctor Who. Love it or hate it, it’s a massive part of British culture. There can’t really a person in England who doesn’t know the terms Tardis, Dalek, or Sonic Screwdriver.
As the Doctor and Ace walked into the sunset in 1989’s Survival, little did anyone know that the series was soon to be cancelled, possibly gone forever.
Luckily, in 2005, much loved writer Russell T Davies revived the show for the 21st century. This separated Who into two categories – Classic Who, and NuWho.
So, to count down to the Christmas special, here is my review of each NuWho Doctor’s best episodes.

Marvel’s latest super hero film Doctor Strange opened in the Us today. It’s a very good movie with a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, although it’s not without flaws. Here are eight observations from a long-time fan, so beware of spoilers.
I’ve been a fan of Doctor Strange ever since I read my first issue of The Defenders in 1972. I remember watching the first Doctor Strange movie in 1978 with Peter Hooten as the sorcerer supreme. That one was disappointing but the new one delivers the goods. Here are some of the takeaways from watching the new Doctor Strange film.
(Spoilers!)
1. The climax of this film is very different from other comic book movies we’ve seen because the hero saves the day by outwitting his enemy instead of outfighting him. Strange knows he has no chance in battle against Dormammu but he nevertheless wins through a clever,...

A skydiver has made history by becoming the first person to jump 25,000 feet without a parachute - and he did it all on live TV. Millions tuned into Fox's special called Heaven Sent to see professional skydiver Luke Aikins, 42, jump out of an airplane with only the clothes on his back, freefall for about two minutes and successfully land in a 100 ft. by 100 ft. net. The daredevil then climbed out of the net and embraced his wife, Monica, who was among family and friends, including their 4-year-old son, anxiously watching from the landing site in the outskirts of Simi Valley in California.

“‘It’s not for me.’”
To be fair, that’s how 99.9999% of humans would respond to someone asking them if they’d like to jump out of a plane, traveling at 25,000 feet. With no parachute. And no wingsuit.
Yet, two years after the idea was first broached to him, that’s exactly what Luke Aikins will do on Saturday as part of Fox’s live “Stride Gum Presents Heaven Sent” event.
It’s there that Aikins will look to join a succession of escalating televised shows of athletic daring that has its DNA in the Evel Kneivel jumps of the ’60s and ’70s and that has continued through another massive televised event like Felix Baumgartner’s 2012 Red Bull Stratos dive. Aikins worked with Baumgartner as part of the training staff that prepared him to jump from the outer limits of space, nearly 25 miles from orbit to landing on Earth.

Luke Aikins remembers laughing the first time he was asked to jump out of a plane with nothing but the clothes on his back. "Like any normal, sane person I said, 'Thank you but no thank you I have a wife and a son and I've got a life to live,' " Aikins, 42, tells People. "Then, two weeks went by and I kept waking up in the middle of the night thinking, if somebody said you had to do this how could it be done?" he continues. A third-generation skydiver with 18,000 jumps under his belt, Aikins is more than just a daredevil.

Many fans have wondered whether Mr Dalton ever came to close to appearing in the episode, and the exact reasons why he didn’t return to reprise his role. Now we have answers to both of those questions.
Rachel Talalay – who directed both segments of the finale – said this to the Radio Free Skaro podcast: “At first we did check to see if Timothy Dalton...

Before it's time for wedding bells, Ciara is enjoying some time away with the girls. The singer headed to Las Vegas with her friends for a fun getaway this weekend, E! News has learned. Ciara has been keeping busy in recent months planning her wedding to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who will return to the football field for NFL preseason in early August. It was less than a year ago that the couple revealed their engagement while on a romantic beachside vacation together. "God Is Good! Grateful For You @DangRussWilson. You Are Heaven Sent. Ciara took her post-engagement show to Las Vegas on Saturday, with fiancé Russell Wilson, their friends and her huge engagement ring in tow. When the couple wasn't relaxing in a VIP bungalow at the Marquee Day Club, drinking water and lightly sipping rosé champagne, Ciara, 30, took to a small stage to entertain the sun-kissed crowd. "You guys are showing up so hard," she told attendees, holding the microphone with her left hand, which was weighed down by her diamond sparkler, which she'd previously flashed only on social media. As Doctor Who spin-off, Torchwood approaches its tenth anniversary, we rewind a decade to revisit its BBC Three origins...
BBC 3 was first connected with Doctor Who as a channel mentioned in The Dæmons (1971), and in 2005 became the broadcaster of Doctor Who Confidential (which ran from 2005 – 2011), providing the new series with accompanying documentaries akin to the existing DVD range. These were initially full of clips from the show's history, then became more about the making of the contemporary series. On top of this, 2006 saw the broadcast of Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood.

Less than a year after the end of Jane Lynch’s Emmy-winning turn as sweatsuit-wearing Sue Sylvester on Fox’s Glee, the comedy genius returns to scripted comedy (Lynch is also slays on Hollywood Game Night and hosting Wednesday’s Peoples Choice Awards) as a sublimely flawed guardian angel in CBS’ Angel From Hell. In the half-hour comedy, Lynch stars as Amy, a woman claiming to be the guardian angel of a neurotic doctor named Allison (Maggie Lawson). Amy offers Allison unsolicited advice and when the guidance works, the duo form an unlikely friendship and Amy integrates herself into Allison’s life — though Allison isn’t … Continue reading →

Mr Robot, Cucumber, Inside No. 9...Here are Den Of Geek writers' top 15 TV episodes of 2015. Did your favourites make the cut?
The votes are in.
Earlier this month, over thirty of Den Of Geek's writers nominated up to five of their favourite television episodes of the year, ranked in order of preference. Points were allocated. Favourites emerged. And the sanity of the site's TV editor was offered once again as a festive sacrifice to the God of Microsoft Excel worksheets.
Over eighty individual episodes were nominated in total, and below are the fifteen that placed highest overall...
15. Rick & Morty – Total Rickall
What our writer said:
“Clip shows are traditionally seen as ways to save money, building a flimsy narrative framework of nostalgia-fuelled new footage around flashbacks to previous episodes. Somehow, Dan Harmon's shows usually manage to put more effort into spoofing this type of episode than any other episode.

A show like Doctor Who sometimes needs to do the unexpected, and that is what Doctor Who: 9×12 – Hell Bent does. What I think I will call this episode is “fan service” because that is exactly what it is, in all the right ways
Continuing from Heaven Sent The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) is now on Gallifrey and ready to take on the Time Lords for their actions. The question is, who has the upper hand in the situation…The Timelords, or a very angry Doctor?
For a lot of this episode you may be confused as to where it is leading, but that is okay. Just go with the flow and let it lead you to the end. We see some characters return, and finally get a good taste of Gallifrey, but most importantly Peter Capaldi once again flexes his acting muscles in all the right ways.

A few thoughts on tonight's "Doctor Who" season finale — and on this season as a whole — coming up just as soon as we have lunch followed by breakfast... As someone with virtually no "Doctor Who" experience prior to the reboot, I've always appreciated Russell T. Davies' decision to kill off the Timelords. As it is, the new version of the series has plenty of links to the old — especially since Davies couldn't stop himself from continually bringing back more and more Daleks — but I've only occasionally felt like I arrived at class without having done the reading assignment when I watch episodes dealing with the Doctor's former friends and enemies. Obviously, the series has lots of fans who can recite chapter and verse on every adventure going back to William Hartnell, but for us relative newbies, sidelining the Time Lords did a good job of boiling the show down...

Spoilers! Here's our review of Doctor Who series 9's finale, Hell Bent.
This review contains spoilers. Our spoiler-free review is here.
9.12 Hell Bent
"Get off my planet"
Well, that's an hour of telly to put proverbial cats amongst proverbial pigeons. A Doctor Who finale that goes against the grain of the character of the Doctor himself for large parts. That brings back a character who died two episodes ago, and at one stage that left me wondering if Amy and/or Rory would walk through the door.
I'd wager hard cash that the internet is noisily exploding, even as you read these very words. Good good. We've got a lot to talk about...

A bunch of new images from the Doctor Who series 9 finale, Hell Bent, have arrived from the BBC. Spoilers...
If you're up-to-date with Doctor Who, then you'll know why anyone who isn't would be advised to step away from this post. Above are lots of images from the Doctor Who series 9 finale, Hell Bent. Images with things in them; characters, locations, costumes, objects and the never-more-erotic eyebrows of one Peter Capaldi.
The finale finishes off the two-parter begun in last Saturday's Heaven Sent, written and directed by Steven Moffat and Rachel Talalay, respectively. Below is the official synopsis, which, be warned once again, contains things.
Returning to Gallifrey, the Doctor faces the Time Lords in a struggle that will take him to the end of time itself. Who is the Hybrid? And what is the Doctor’s confession?
We'll have a spoiler-free review live on the site first thing tomorrow morning.

Doctor Who finale, Hell Bent, rounds off series 9 with a nerdy, often brilliant, very slightly frustrating but highly watchable episode...
Things I can safely say without spoiling the finale of Doctor Who series 9 for you? Plot-wise, not too much.
The episode picks up from where last week's Heaven Sent left off, which sees the Doctor having escaped his Confession Dial, and back on the surface of Gallifrey. It's still an angry Doctor, it's still a Doctor showing his rough edges, and it's still a masterclass of controlled acting from Peter Capaldi.
It's also a skilled and strong class in storytelling from Steven Moffat. Having gambled hard by making Capaldi's Doctor the sole character for much of last week, Hell Bent feels just a little more conventional, in part just by having a much larger cast. But that doesn't mean Moffat isn't working hard to keep us on our toes.
