The film did only one week in Lisbon. Another box office flop was the earlier Merci Natercia! (1960) by the same director, Pierre Kast and Portuguese-born producer and singer, Clara D'Ovar.
A French site has listed Alexandra Bastedo', Roger Hanin and Édouard Molinaro as actors in this film, but that is wrong, as they are no featured in it, and most advertisements precised the film had "13 great names" of French films in it, and those are exactly the ones listed in this database.
In Lisbon, the film's premiere was shared with the short The Hunt (1964), by Manoel de Oliveira a deeper view of Portuguese bourgeoisie in a rural setting.
At the beginning, in the credits, the French version includes "Les" before the title, thus "Les vacances portugaises".
