Carlo (Oscar Pellicer) an good-looking young globetrotter , is murdered aboard his yacht with a gun shot . His friend Miguel (Paco Morán) immediately goes to a police station accusing himself of the crime, but the lieutenant who attends him needs to know all the details that have surrounded the incident . The hard investigation is carried out by a sea captain (Carlos Lemos) , that's why the killing took place on a boat . As Miguel tells his past incidents by means of long flashbacks. As Miguel goes back to Saturday, March 21 to review, day by day, what happened in the last week.

Veteran and expert filmmaker Miguel Iglesias directs this thriller with plenty of intrigue , suspense , red herrings , plot twists and several suspicious people . It results to be an interesting whodunit in which there are various suspect people and we have to discover who's the killer . At the same time , it depicts the Sixties environment , describing some aspects of the people living in the Mediterranean coast with its upper and low-classes . Apparently, the Catalan filmmaker was inspired by some real events that occurred during the summer of 1935, in which the ex-husband of the millionaire Barbara Hutton died in a car accident , while his lover was in serious condition. The director had to soften the possible lesbian derivations and drug addiction that the actual events really oozed. Despite the fact that the treatment given to the story is close to Film Noir , in general , all the material was quite softened by the self-censorship of the directors in those years. The film is aligned with the Barcelones police cinema that began in 1950 with ¨Apartado de Correos 1001¨ (by Julio Salvador) and ¨Brigada Criminal¨ (by Ignacio F. Iquino) , which , like these inaugural films of the classic criminal genre , are based on true events. ¨Muerte en primavera (1965)¨shows a preference for interiors and some natural outdoors as beaches and a coast port . The low-key interpretations contribuye effectively to the sense of actuality despite some clumsy mistakes . Actors give uniformly acceptable and passable acting . Muerte en primavera (1965) is well starred by Paco Morán as jealous, suspicious husband , and a very young and beautiful Mónica Randall as his wife , giving a decent acting in their usual style . Along with an enjoyable plethora of secondaries , such as : Yelena Samarina , Óscar Pellicer , Luis Induni , Patricia Loran and Carlos Lémos.

This nice film belongs to the Spanish Film Noir of the Fifties and Sixties , whose main center was in Barcelona and Madrid at times ; other great titles also located in Barcelona or Madrid production are the following ones : "Distrito Quinto" (1957) by Julio Coll , ¨Brigada criminal¨(1950) by Ignacio F Iquino , ¨A sangre fría (1959)¨by Juan Bosch , ¨Un vaso de Whisky¨ by Julio Coll , "A Tiro Limpio" (1963), by Francisco Pérez-Dolz , ¨El precio de un asesino¨ (1963) by Miguel Lluch, ¨091 Policia al habla¨ by Jose Maria Forqué , Crimen (1964) by Miguel Lluch and the best one resulted to be "Los Peces Rojos" (1955) by José Antonio Nieves Conde .

It displays an atmospheric and evocative musical score by Juan Durán Alemany. Likewise , appropriate cinematography in black and white by Jaime Deu Casas , shot on various locations in Palamós, Girona, Catalonia, Arenys de Mar, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain . This low-budgeted production that brings most of the roles of the classsic Noir Film was professionally filmed by Miguel Iglesias , though it has some shortcomings and failures . This craftsman was a compelling Spanish filmmaker who made all kinds of genres : adventure , comedy , drama , thriller with skillness and intelligence enough , such as : Barcelona Connection , Las Hijas del Cid , Destino: Estambul 68 , Después del gran robo , ¡Cómo te amo!
