- The UK release was cut, the distributor was required to cut sight of animal cruelty (a snake being stabbed and hacked at by a women using a knife) as per BBFC Policy based on the Cinematorgraph Films (Animals) Act 1937, in order to obtain an 18 classification. An uncut classification was not available.
- Director Don Hulette shot the background story of the character played by Rosalba Neri, and NTA added those 7 minutes to the heavily cut syndicated TV version, "Island of Despair" (1973). The NTA VHS version with a lurid cover art, is based on the TV version, with Greek subtitles.
- According to Jesus Franco in a live interview for the program "Versión Española" de RTVE, the film was shown in Spain with 26 minutes cut, and a modified ending.
- The Australian VHS version runs 80min 33sec, and is missing the following:
- 5m 27s: A few seconds of a woman walking across the cell is missing due to print damage.
- 21m 21s: Some nudity has been cut. 65m 33s: Shots of lovemaking in cave cut.
- On the other hand, the Australian tape includes one establishing shot (from 42m 32s to 42m 33s) that is not in the US edition.
- There are two French versions with English subtitles: the director's cut, and the hardcore version, with about 20 minute total of genitalia and sex inserts shot by Bruno Mattei, showing no faces and obviously different actors.
