- Kuroda Jubie: Give me my clothes!
- Link Stuart: I'll give you your clothes, but first I want your word of honor that you won't kill Gauche on sight.
- Kuroda Jubie: My clothes!
- Link Stuart: Your word.
- Kuroda Jubie: [angrily speaks Japanese]
- Link Stuart: Don't know what the hell that's all about, but it sounds like it's comin' from the heart. Well?
- Kuroda Jubie: Give me five minutes with him.
- Link Stuart: Not enough.
- Kuroda Jubie: One hour. Give me one full hour.
- Link Stuart: I need one full day. Kuroda, I need the time to make Gauche take me to the cash. I wanna be sure it's there.
- Kuroda Jubie: No!
- Link Stuart: All right, you suit yourself.
- [Kuroda starts to shiver in the cold]
- Link Stuart: Turnin' blue. Won't be long you'll be nothing but a clump of ice. By nightfall you'll be frozen into the landscape, and you'll never avenge your friend or never get your sword. You're gonna end up in Japanese hell, a disgrace to your ancestors.
- Kuroda Jubie: You have my word, I will not kill the man until you say.
- Link Stuart: [smiles, gives him his clothes back] Don't take it so hard. I think you're one hell of a man.
- Kuroda Jubie: I think you are one son of a bitch.
- [Link and Kuroda have just killed four members of Gauche's gang who attacked them in Pepita's brothel]
- Link Stuart: [ironically] Enjoy the hospitality of the Hotel Maxime.
- Kuroda Jubei: Yes. Nice people
- [the Japanese ambassador gives Kuroda a knife with a knotted rope attached]
- Japanese Ambassador: Each of these knots represents a day. I have given him seven days to recover the Mikado's sword. In seven days, I will pass here again... the same train.
- Link Stuart: Suppose he doesn't make it in seven days?
- Japanese Ambassador: For the disgrace of failure, he will rip his abdomen... ,kill himself. So will I. We call it hari-kari.
- Link Stuart: Well, that's something I'd like to see. Then, he might as well do it now, because I'm not taking him.
- [Kuroda draws knife and holds it to Link's throat]
- Japanese Ambassador: Then he will cut your head off.
- Link Stuart: That's something I wouldn't like to see.
- Link Stuart: Cristina, you're a whore. You've always been one. You'll always be one.
- Cristina: You always did know how to speak to a woman.
- [after Kuroda hurls Link to the ground during their fight]
- Link Stuart: Do you think you can do that again?
- Kuroda Jubei: Almost certainly.
- [Link charges Kuroda several more times and every time Kuroda flips him on his back]
- Link Stuart: [panting] Looks to me that you're getting tired. I'll tell you what. We'll call it a draw.
- Link Stuart: Folks, me and my friends are going to put on a little Wild West show for you. Some of you may have heard about it.
- [pulls his pistol from his holster]
- Link Stuart: It's called a hold-up.
- [while sleeping with Pepita, a loud noise awakens Link and he draws and cocks his pistol]
- Pepita: Hey, do you always shoot your bed partner in the morning?
- Link Stuart: Well, that depends on how good she was.
- Pepita: Me?
- Link Stuart: I'll let you live.
- Pepita: Thanks.
- Link Stuart: Much younger than me, too. Better looking. A helluva lot richer. I can't imagine what you see in him. When do you expect him?
- Cristina: When he gets here.
- Link Stuart: And when's that?
- Cristina: When he feels like it.
- Link Stuart: Oh, that shouldn't be too long, then, should it?
- Cristina: If you want to know, its been 10 days. A long time for a man.
- Maria: My name is Maria. My father sold me here last month. I'm sorry. I'm not one of great experience yet. Besides, I am afraid.
- Kuroda Jubie: No. First you undress me.
- [Kuroda hands Maria his samurai sword]
- Link Stuart: I think you ought to get Christina ready.
- Kuroda Jubie: All right.
- Link Stuart: We'll be travelin' soon. Do you think you can handle her? Drag her out by the hair if you have to.
- Link Stuart: If I remember right, you're a long ways from being a good cook. You get busy anyhow.
- Cristina: Why should I? You get busy.
- Link Stuart: You cook, you eat. I cook, you get whipped and go to bed hungry.
- Cristina: The thing I like about you, Link, the older you get the sweeter you get too!
- [as their men haul off many bags of gold coins]
- Gotch 'Gauche' Kink: Quite a haul, Link - one-third.
- Link Stuart: Yeah. Not bad for Sabbath work, huh?
- Opening title card: By 1860, Japan had already opened her doors to the rest of the world and the first ambassador to Washington had arrived only after a long and perilous voyage by sea. Ten years later, despite the new railroad from San Francisco, the Ambassador Sakaguchi, Lord of Bizen, was to find that besides the perils of the voyage by sea, there were still further perils to be faced on land on their way through the West.
- [during a train robbery]
- Link Stuart: Now don't get scared or do anything stupid and you'll be all right. Just relax... and enjoy yourself.
- [indicating Christina who is bound and gagged]
- Link Stuart: Now you tell Gauche the gold and the Japanese sword in exchange for that.
- [Christina splutters angrily into her gag]
- Hyatt: That's why you didn't finish me off.
- Link Stuart: Yeah, that's right. You tell him tomorrow noon at the old mission.
- Link Stuart: [to Christina] What about you? You have any messages you want delivered?
- [her gag renders Christina's curses unintelligible]
- Link Stuart: Do you hear that? She says life won't be worth living until she sees him again. Do you think you can remember all that?
- Hyatt: Yeah. And I'll remember to tell him to leave you for me.
- [first lines]
- [as the train stops at a remote station, an officer positions his squad of soldiers outside the train]
- U.S. Army Officer: All right, men, fall out. Take your positions.
- Cristina: I'll help you with Gauche.
- Link Stuart: I thought he cared for you. Give you all sorts of respect.
- Cristina: But, he's not you. Nobody is. I'll go along with you. Anyway you want it.
- Link Stuart: Is that so? Alright. Get your clothes off.
- Cristina: You're a disgrace to your mother's wild pigs. When Gauche has finished with you, I pray to God that he sends you to Hell.
- Link Stuart: Now, that's a very religious girl.
- Cristina: You bastard.
- Link Stuart: When the time comes, I'm going to have to beat it out of you. And that's all right too.
- Gotch 'Gauche' Kink: What can I do for you?
- Link Stuart: Well, you can give my friend here his sword, tell me where the gold is hidden, and then you can take a high dive in low well.
- [Link and Kuroda have wiped out a gang of Mexican bandits]
- Link Stuart: Now we're even.
- [Link draws his gun and points it at Kuroda, who draws his sword]
- Link Stuart: I'm a little more even than you.
