Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak might be thinking that retirement can’t come soon enough.
A contestant named Tavaris threw Sajak for a loop on Thursday’s episode of the long-running game show, ringing in to solve a “Phrase” puzzle and offering the answer: “Right in the butt!” (Never mind that that’s not even the right number of letters.)

Audience members at the taping of the May 22 edition of Wheel of Fortune were openly disappointed on behalf of finalist Paul Dodson who lost out big-time when faced with a devilishly difficult puzzle. They outright booed when Dodson was unable to complete the puzzle and the answer was revealed to be a near impossible-to-guess word under the category “What Are You Doing?” At that stage of the game a $1 million jackpot was up for grabs. With the usual accompanied R, S, T, L, N, and E, the puzzle board read: “_ _ _ _ _ L _ N _.” Dodson guessed the letters C, H, P, and A, none of which appeared on the board. The final answer was revealed to be “Quibbling” to which the audience first gasped at then proceeded to boo. Dodson, beside host Pat Sajak, encouraged audiences to boo louder, using his arms to ...

Generally, the Wheel Of Fortune long-time host, Pat Sajak, tries to be fair. While he has held down his post for more than four decades, there are times he rubs fans the wrong way with his decisions. Undoubtedly, during a recent episode, some fans were critical of his enforcement of a rule over a minor mistake. Specifically, a small infraction that cost one player a beautiful getaway.
Pat Sajak Comes To Terms With Criticism
On Thursday, May 16, some Wheel Of Fortune fans got a little miffed at Pat Sajak for his judgment of a contestant’s answer. While this isn’t the first time Pat has fallen out of some fans’ graces, it is getting closer to the last time. With more than four decades of experience, this isn’t Pat’s first rodeo of disappointing someone. In recent months, some fans even thought Pat was seemingly more agitated and...

Pat Sajak is only a few weeks away from retirement and is showing his softer side as of late, like on Tuesday’s (May 21) Wheel of Fortune, where he sympathized with a contestant after a baffling puzzle blunder. The contestant in question was Brittany Collins, a children’s hospital facilitator and Bingo player from Louisville, Kentucky, who faced off against Susan Meissner from Charleston, South Carolina, and Blake Swoboda from Houston, Texas. Collins looked primed for a successful night when she nailed the $1,000 and $2,000 Tossup puzzles under the “Things” and “Food and Drink” categories. However, she hit a brick wall when she faced what appeared to be an obvious “Phrase” puzzle. The puzzle board read: “A N _ T _ I N G / I S / P O S S I _ _ E.” Instead of choosing to solve, Collins asked for another letter and shockingly selected an “R,” which, of course, was wrong. Wheel...

Wheel of Fortune viewers are taking sides after host Pat Sajak made a judgment call that cost a contestant a trip to Mexico.
Dee Merritt, a Navy sexual assault response coordinator from Portsmouth, Virginia, made her Wheel of Fortune debut last week.
The hopeful contestant faced off against her competitors, Kerry Ruiz, a wellness studio co-owner from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Amanda Morris, a billiards player from Wilmington, North Carolina.
All three contestants were given the opportunity to solve a puzzle during the Express Round in the Phrase category.
The six-word phrase on the board read “_ N O _ _ / I T / O _ T / O F / T H E / _ _ _ _,” and Dee was the first to buzz in, confident she could solve the puzzle correctly.
“I would like to solve,” Dee told host Pat Sajak. “Knock it out the park!”

An unlucky Wheel of Fortune contestant cost themselves a trip to Mexico after missing one tiny two-letter word from their spoken answer. Now many fans are saying that the ruling was “too tough” and “unfair.” Last Thursday’s (May 16) episode saw a face-off between Kerry Ruiz, a wellness studio co-owner from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Amanda Morris, a billiards player from Wilmington, North Carolina, and Dee Merritt, a Navy sexual assault response coordinator from Portsmouth, Virginia. During the Express Round, the three contestants were faced with a six-word “Phrase” puzzle that read, “_ N O _ _ / I T / O _ T / O F / T H E / _ _ _ _.” Merritt was first to take a guess at solving the puzzle, answering, “Knock it out the park.” At first glance her answer seemed completely correct to many viewers. But it wasn’t precise enough. “I’m sorry,” host Pat Sajak responded as the buzzer sounded to indicate Merritt was incorrect.

Wheel of Fortune fans are not ready to lose Pat Sajak as his run as host is coming to an end. He has been the face of the game show since 1981 and now, he has just one month left. Wheel Of Fortune Fans Not Ready To Lose Pat Sajak
For some time now, Wheel of Fortune fans have felt that Pat Sajak needed to step down from the popular game show. He seemed cranky and angrier, less tolerant of the contestants. Pat filmed his final episode on April 5th, 2024 and it will air on June 7th with Ryan taking over in September 2024. Of course,...

Wheel of Fortune fans are up in arms over one of the game show’s rules, and they’re calling on producers to implement some major changes.
The popular weeknight game show has operated with the same rules for almost 50 years.
One rule, in particular, though, has Wheel watchers griping online because they feel it gives contestants an unfair advantage.
If a contestant wins a trip during their appearance, the value of the trip is credited to their overall winnings as a cash dollar amount.
This means the player not only walks away with an all-expenses-paid trip but is also awarded the dollar amount—something that doesn’t sit well with Wheel of Fortune viewers.
A critic who considers this rule to be unfair gameplay took to Reddit recently to voice their opinions in a post titled, “I wish the money won for trips weren’t added with their cash wins.

At the start of Cryptmaster, you’ll preside over four former heroes—now zombies—who are prodded along by their eponymous resurrector. Of course, having rotted for so long, they’ve lost all their abilities and memories, and this first-person dungeon crawler’s entire conceit is wrapped around you needing to help them literally fill the blanks in their memories by typing out the unfinished words that hover beside their avatars. Each time you kill an enemy or solve a riddle, you’ll pick up one or more letters as loot, revealing them in your currently equipped words like a game of Hangman. It’s a novel way to nod to text-based adventures of old, but after a few hours into this 10-ish-hour adventure, it grows T_R_SOM_.

Wednesday night’s new episode of Wheel of Fortune has got fans talking — for all the wrong reasons. The newest Grand Giveaways night saw three pairings of young people and their grandparents: Rex and Katherine Wang; Sam Johnson and Linda Vian; and Jovanni White and Joan Bradshaw. Katherine claimed to have been a Wheel watcher since the ’70s, but some fans weren’t convinced that any of the contestants of the night were truly up on the rules of the game. It all started when Sam & Linda couldn’t quite decide if they wanted to solve or request more letters during the first puzzle. Then, Rex and Katherine started spouting off vowel requests without the magic phrase — “I’d like to buy a vowel” — in the second puzzle. (They’d later go on to buy all of the vowels for some reason.) Then, Jiovanni and Joan joined in on the...

As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Ryan, 49, and his girlfriend of three years, Aubrey Paige Petcosky, 26, broke up last month.
“After three beautiful years together, Ryan and Aubrey have mutually decided to part ways,” a source told People of their breakup, adding that the former couple plans to “stay in each other’s lives as good friends and support one another’s endeavors.”
Current Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak caught wind of the news, and according to a source, he isn’t surprised, given his opinion of Ryan.

While Pat Sajak is retiring from Wheel of Fortune next month, Drew Carey has no intention of giving up his The Price Is Right hosting duties any time soon, if ever! Carey took over the The Price is Right in 2007 following the retirement of legendary host Bob Barker, who passed away at the age of 99 last August after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. It’s a role the 65-year-old comedian still cherishes and hopes to hold onto forever. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the CBS Fall Schedule Celebration last week, Carey was asked how much longer he thinks he’ll stay on as Price Is Right host. “I’ll say, for the record, I wanna die on stage with a microphone in my hand,” he said, confirming that he doesn’t intend on going anywhere. The saying goes that good things come to those who wait, and that was definitely true for one Wheel of Fortune contestant on Friday night (May 3). On Friday’s episode, Tracy McBride, a mother of one from Greenville, South Carolina, told host Pat Sajak that she’d been trying to get on the show for 28 years. “When’s the first time you tried to get on this show?” Sajak asked. “20 years ago,” McBride replied before correcting herself. “I take that back. 28 years ago! I tried at the age of 20.” “Wow,” Sajak responded. “But you haven’t been trying all those 20 years?” “Periodically, I would update my information, and I’m here through faith and perseverance; I made it,” McBride continued as the studio audience cheered. “We’ve been waiting for ya,” Sajak added. “I told ’em, I said, ‘I’m not leaving until Tracy gets here.'” View this post...

A Wheel of Fortune contestant opted for the wrong letter, and it cost her big time.
Kimberly Wright from Apopka, Florida, appeared on the long-running game show, and it appeared that she had a win in the bag.
Kimberly was going to work on a puzzle in the “Living Thing” category, and everything was going well until she made a mistake that left her short of more than $7,000.
After Kimberly’s spin landed on a $3,500 wheel wedge, she opted for the letter “P,” bringing up multiple Ps worth $7,450 and a puzzle that read, “D U _ _ – _ _ L L E D Platypus.”
When host Pat Sajak asked Kimberly what she wanted to do, she chose to spin yet again.
This time, Kimberly landed on the “Express $1,000” wedge, requiring her to call another letter.
When Kimberly told Pat she would be calling the letter “F,” the live audience immediately groaned, realizing that “F” was not on the board,...

Drew Carey believes the late Bob Barker made a mistake regarding his time hosting The Price Is Right, and he doesn’t plan on repeating it.
After Barker retired, the 65-year-old actor and comedian took over the game show’s hosting duties in 2007.
That’s given Carey 17 years of experience hosting the popular game show, which features popular price-guessing games like Plinko and Wheel spins for big money.
There’s also the memorable Showcase Showdown round, which offers some sweet prize packages, and some contestants surprise Carey and the viewers with their bids.
Carey recently commented on his longevity as the game show’s host and discussed how long he plans to continue with the gig.
In addition, he spoke about another celebrity who is taking over for a longtime game show host.

The future of Paramount may be decided in the coming days. In addition to a bid from Skydance, the Wall Street Journal reports Sony and Apollo Global Management have teamed up to offer $26 billion in cash for the entertainment company. Is Ryan Seacrest not the fans’ top pick to replace Pat Sajak as the host of Wheel of Fortune at the end of Season 41? Pat announced that he was retiring in June 2023 but shared he would be staying through Season 41. Then, Ryan was revealed to be the one filling his shoes. Yet, is there someone better out there? A recent Wheel of Fortune contestant made an epic mistake on a very simple puzzle which cost them a good chunk of change. So, what was the puzzle and how much did they lose? More so, what did fans have to say about this mishap? Keep reading for more details.
Wheel Of Fortune Contestant Makes Epic Mistake On Simple Puzzle
Some of these game show puzzles can be hard even if they appear quite obvious. Wheel of Fortune has faced some issues over various puzzles, mainly when it comes down to what the players have said. On a few occasions, it sounds like the contestant has said the correct answer when in fact they did not. In the end, it cost them an amazing prize or a lot of money. At the same time, they just have to laugh over the whole situation but on a recent episode, it may have been no laughing matter.

Ryan Seacrest will take over the helm hosting Wheel of Fortune later this year, but fans of the show think someone else would do a better job filling Pat Sajak’s shoes.
As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Pat Sajak announced his retirement earlier this year.
Season 41 will be Pat’s final one as the longtime host of Wheel of Fortune, and this fall, Ryan will take over, beginning with Season 42.
Although Ryan has plenty of experience as a TV host, some critics think another well-known television personality would be better suited for the job.
In a recent Reddit thread, one Wheel of Fortune viewer made a bold proclamation when they posted, “Joel McHale > Ryan Seacrest.”
“I don’t know if he was in the running for Pat’s replacement, but I think Joel McHale (Card Sharks) would have been a great pick…” Redditor u/baracuda68 wrote in the caption.

A Wheel of Fortune contestant missed out on Tuesday night (April 30) after making a “painful” wrong letter pick on a seemingly obvious puzzle. The contestant was Kimberly Wright from Apopka, Florida, a mother of all boys who enjoys ‘glamping.’ Wright faced Russ Gergely, a Cleveland sports fan from Tallmadge, Ohio, and Marie Kioski from Owosso, Michigan, who likes to play the Wheel slots at the casino she frequents. Wright struggled to get out of the starting blocks, having no money in her prize pot at the end of the first round. Things only got worse for the Florida native in the Express Round, where she threw away $7,250 on a puzzle that most viewers at home thought was easy. The puzzle board read “Du _ _ – _ Illed Platypus,” and Wright had a chance to solve it, or at least add more money to the pot by guessing a correct letter. Instead, she guessed the letter “F,...

Katy Perry is leaving American Idol after this season. The hit reality singing competition series has had the same three judges since it returned to ABC, and this is the first change since its reboot. Ryan Seacrest, the host since the start on Fox, has recently talked about Katy leaving the series.
Here is what Ryan had to say and when he thinks American Idol will announce her replacement.
Ryan Seacrest On Katy Perry Leaving American Idol
Katy Perry shocked her fans and co-stars when she announced she was leaving American Idol at the end of this season. Luke Bryan said their contracts are year-to-year, so any judge can exit after any season since nothing locks them down for multiple seasons on the show. For Katy, it is time to depart the series.
This is because Katy Perry wants to release new music and tour the world performing concerts, with her daughter in tow.

Pat Sajak has already filmed his last few episodes of Wheel of Fortune, and some fans might feel glad about that; particularly one whom he roasted for some time on a recent airing of the game show. He just would not let go when it came to Jennifer’s hairstyle.
Pat Sajak Can Be Kind To Contestants On The Game Show
Sometimes, when the host becomes too generous, fans will roast the game show host. When a constant missed one letter out of the word “Everglades,” but went on to win a good prize, people felt furious. Some of them decided that he should already retire. Well, it’s not long before Ryan Seacrest takes over and then he will probably get ripped for making mistakes on Wheel of Fortune.

Pat Sajak couldn’t keep his eyes off one contestant on Thursday’s (April 25) Wheel of Fortune because of her elaborate, oversized, attention-stealing 1980s hairstyle. The contestant in question was Jennifer Klase, a married mother of two from New Palestine, Indiana, who was voted for having the “Best Hair” in high school back in the ’80s. Klase held that honor with pride and hasn’t changed her hairstyle since. “So when you like something, you stick with it, is that it?” Sajak asked (per The Sun U.S.), clearly fascinated by Klase’s wild, high-volume blond bouffant. “Stick is a good word because of all the hairspray I use,” Klase jokingly replied.
