Abba Voyage show will soon travel “around the world”, organisers have reportedly said.
The virtual concert, which sees hologram- style “Abba-tars” of the pop band performing a full setlist in a purpose-built arena, has seen enormous demand.
The unique concert, which opened last May, has sold over a million tickets.
Following its success, Universal Music Group has reportedly said that the show will soon go on tour around the world.
“Plans are now in development to take ‘Abba Voyage’ around the world,” said Universal Music Group chairman Lucian Grainge while on a company earnings call, reported Variety.
A representative for Abba Voyage declined to comment, but a source close to the project said that the focus was on London for the forseeable.
Abba, who formed in Sweden in 1972, are famous for multiple hits including “Dancing Queen”, “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) and “Mamma Mia”.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Season 9, episode 3 of “The Masked Singer,” which aired March 1 on Fox.
“The Masked Singer” is like a jungle sometimes, it makes you wonder how you keep from going under. On Wednesday’s episode, rap legend Grandmaster Flash was trying not to be pushed, since he was so close to the edge. But despite trying not to, he lost his head.
Grandmaster Flash was the latest celebrity to be unmasked on Season 9 of “The Masked Singer,” revealed as the Polar Bear. The hip-hop pioneer sang “Rapture,” by Blondie. And there’s quite a connection there.
“That song was actually written for me,” he told Variety. “I remember Fab Five Freddy bringing [Blondie’s Debbie Harry] to one of my shows. This is way back in the day before I became famous. And she wrote this song of what she saw when...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Season 9 season premiere of “The Masked Singer,” which aired Feb. 15 on Fox.
“The Masked Singer” kicked off its Season 9 on Wednesday night with one of its biggest stars yet — and also its oldest. Entertainer icon Dick Van Dyke, 97, was the celebrity under the Gnome costume, and was the first reveal of the night. Later, country music artist Sara Evans was unmasked as the Mustang.
Van Dyke’s reveal reps the second season in a row where the first reveal came from a legend. In Season 8, “Monty Python” star Eric Idle and “Star Trek” mainstay William Shatner (who at 91 had previously been the oldest celebrity on the show) were revealed on night 1.
“It was the weirdest experience I think I’ve ever had,” Van Dyke said.
Van Dyke said he actually reached out to Idle when he first considered coming on “The Masked Singer.

It’s one of busiest opening weeks in some time for indie releases with Neon (Pleasure), Bleecker Street (Montana Story), IFC Midnight (The Innocents) and Roadside Attractions (Family Camp) in theaters — even as the imminent closure of the Landmark Pico underscores just how arthouses are struggling to win back core demos.
Also out, Grasshopper Films presents Michelangelo Frammartino’s Venice Special Jury Prize-winner Il Buco; Greenwich Entertainment documentary Mau is the first feature-length treatment on design visionary Bruce Mau; and Trafalgar Entertainment offers a remastered version of Lasse Hallstrom’s Abba: The Movie, which follows the group’s hugely successful 1977 Australian tour.
Roadside’s faith-based comedy Family Camp is the widest specialty release on over 850 screens. It’s the first feature from The Skit Guys — Tommy Woodard and Eddie James – targeting “family member from eight to eighty.” Two polar-opposite families find themselves sharing a cabin and vying for a coveted...

Reg Grundy was 92, and passed away at the end of last week at his Bermuda home. His career took him from radio presenting through to his television work. He also got involved with films, and produced Abba: The Movie back in 1977.
But it’s his Australian soaps, that he made under the banner of the Reg Grundy Organisation, for which he will remain the best known. He is survived by his wife and daughter.

Above: Us one sheet for Knight Of Cups (Terrence Malick, USA, 2015); designer: P+A.Leaps and bounds ahead of the competition, the beautiful new poster for Terrence Malick’s Knight of Cups was by far the most popular poster (tallied in likes and reblogs) that I have posted on my daily poster Tumblr since last October. Unveiled nearly a whole year after the first poster for the film premiered at last year’s Berlin Film Festival (that which made my top ten posters of 2015), the new poster retains the arcane and antique feel of that design—not to mention the palm trees—while making it only moderately more commercial with its image of star Christian Bale (albeit upside down and barely recognizable) haloed by a giant harvest moon.Sadly, much of the past month or two has been spent commemorating those we lost: Jacques Rivette, Haskell Weller, Ettore Scola, artist...

In 1977, the motion picture Star Wars changed popular culture forever. What few people realize is that there was a far more culturally and artistically significant film released that same year:
You may have noticed that Agnetha’s bottom is mentioned twice in that introductory video. In fact, it isn’t an exaggeration to state that Agnetha’s backside plays an integral part in Abba: The Movie. Early in the film during a press conference, a reporter inquires about her winning Europe’s “Sexiest Bottom” award for 1977. When he asks if she thinks that her bottom is indeed the sexiest, she responds “How can I answer to that? I don’t know… I haven’t seen it!”. Is it possible not be aware of one’s own bottom? I’ve looked at mine many times, yet Agnetha seems to be saying that she hasn’t seen hers. (Note: I haven’t...

Theater director Phyllida Lloyd is in negotiations to make her feature directorial debut on Mamma Mia! -- Universal Pictures and Playtone's adaptation of the popular ABBA musical created by Judy Craymer and Catherine Johnson.
The story follows a bride-to-be -- raised on a Greek island by a formerly rebellious mom who never disclosed the identity of her father -- who locates three men who might be her father and invites them to her wedding. The musical features 22 ABBA songs, including "Dancing Queen", "Take a Chance on Me" and "The Winner Takes It All". Since opening in London in 1999, the show has grossed more than $1 billion with productions running around the globe.
The movie's screenplay was written by Johnson, who wrote the show's book.
Producing are Playtone's Gary Goetzman and Craymer, who produced the show via her Littlestar banner. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are executive producing along with ABBA members and songwriters Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus.
Lloyd is no stranger to "Mamma Mia!" as she has directed the stage version for London and Broadway audiences.
