Storyline

Plot Summary

Based on a true military operation by Israeli commandos. An Air France flight is hijacked by the P.F.L.P. The plane has about one hundred Jewish passengers. The plane is grounded in Uganda. Israelis would not negotiate. This movie then shows how less than five hundred soldiers actually flew so far and rescued the passengers in one of the most successful military operations in history. The only casualty for Israeli soldiers was Lieutenant Colonel Yonatan "Yonni" Netanyahu. Written by Nikhil Deo

Trivia At one point, Idi Amin, Jr. wears a Glengarry, a Scottish military cap, with a red and white tartan ribbon around it. Amin had been in the King's African Rifles, and suffered considerable racism from British officers. The only one to show him any respect was a Scot. After that, Amin had an affection for Scotland, even considering himself a pretender to the Scottish throne. See more »
Goofs Yonni Netanyahu appears as a full colonel, wearing three oak leaves on his epaulets. He was a lieutenant colonel at the time of his death. Israeli Lt Colonel insignia has two leaves. See more »
