Plot Summary

Thomas Sullivan Magnum IV (Tom Selleck) is an ex-Navy "NIA" (ONI) Lieutenant, and Vietnam Special Ops veteran who resigned his commission at age thirty-three because he never got to be twenty-three. On the beautiful Hawaiian islands, Magnum is a P.I. who enjoys life, his buddies, and who works just hard enough to keep it real. Written by LA-Lawyer

Mosley), and Orville "Rick" Wright (Larry Manetti) have been cited as some of the first positive portrayals of Vietnam veterans on a network television series. See more »
Goofs In many episodes, cars and uniform patches saying "state police" are shown. Hawaii is the only US State without a state police agency, but instead its law enforcement is performed by county governments. See more »
