David Hasselhoff is making a come back… sort off. At the very least, the Baywatch and Knight Rider star had a cameo in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 -- where he received a new nickname, Zardu Hasselfrau –- and starred in the music video for Guardians’ Inferno, a special feature for the film. If you think Hasselhoff is ready to fade back into obscurity, you’re wrong. Dead wrong. In fact, Hasselhoff has the perfect project for himself. If anyone else is interested in making it. Or seeing it…
Hasselhoff had a conversation with CinemaBlend about his role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Hasselhoff couldn’t help but pitch his dream project:
"I have met Robert Rodriguez. He does Dusk til Dawn and Machete. And I said 'You need to do Knight Rider.' Because he was doing a marathon of Knight Riders and he said 'Can we have a selfie!

Usually when Starbucks starts using their red holiday cups to serve out your venti, low-fat, no-foam, half-caf skinny Peppermint Mocha latte, it's a cause for celebration! 'Tis the season for merriment and Christmas cheer! Right? For some Starbucks consumers…wrong. Dead wrong. This year, many customers are not at all happy with the design of Starbucks' red cups. For the 2015 holiday season, Starbucks went with a minimalist, ombré effect for their seasonal drinks, and a lot of people are upset because the Christmas-esque décor is gone. Of course, we're just happy to see the red cups at all because that means we are that much closer to getting presents (and that much closer to the...

15. The Immigrant -
If one were to rank the films of 2014 based solely on innovation, The Immigrant would probably end up near the bottom. Writer-director James Gray’s languid melodrama tells the tumultuous story of a resilient Polish woman looking to find a slice of the American Dream, without much in the way of narrative bravado or anything approaching experimentalism. The moralistic script feels like a relic from a bygone studio era.
But to assess the film’s merit based on its stubborn refusal to buck conventions is to deny one’s self the virtues of one of the year’s great films. Marion Cotillard gives an unforgettable performance as Ewa, the titular heroine whose desire to save her sister enables her to overcome the harsh realities of life in New York’s Lower East Side in the early twentieth century. Joaquin Phoenix portrays the snarling antagonist who helps her survive,...

In 2000, a groovy little Alien-ish sci-fi/horror film called Pitch Black turned into a sleeper hit at the box office. One year later, star Vin Diesel became Hollywood’s Next Big Action Guy with the success of The Fast and the Furious. A Pitch Black sequel followed called Chronicles of Riddick. It went full-saga: Elaborate space-mythologies, a $100 million budget, Judi Dench. The film underperformed at the box office, and the franchise seemed just about dead. Another Riddick film? People in horror movies do the darndest things, don't they? We've all had a "Don't go in there, you idiot!" moment or twelve while watching fright flicks. Horror sure does bring out the stupids.

Saturday (March 9) marks the 16th anniversary of Biggie Smalls' untimely death at age 24.
The inimitable rapper, born Christopher Wallace, made headlines this year after a newly leaked autopsy report revealed startlingly graphic details about his 1997 murder in Los Angeles (Wallace was shot four times, and struck in the chest, shoulder, leg, forearm and scrotum, while in the passenger's seat of a Chevy Suburban on Wilshire Boulevard).
But the hip-hop legend is also frequently remembered by both his contemporaries and new generations of artists influenced by his music (though we won't mention this).
Even Jamie Foxx cited Biggie as a source of inspiration when preparing for his role in Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained."

Washington -- Richard Belzer was in downtown Bethesda, Md., this weekend, promoting his newest book, Dead Wrong: Straight Facts on the Country's Most Controversial Cover-Ups, which is about government coverups and conspiracies.

Bryan Fuller has denied reports that his Munsters TV reboot has been axed. News site Deadline claimed on Monday (October 1) that Mockingbird Lane was unlikely to receive a series order. The reboot of the classic Munsters series, Mockingbird Lane, looks as dead as Herman Munster was before he met Dr. Frankenstein. Reports have surfaced that NBC is likely to pass on the project and won’t be ordering it to series, based on the uneven pilot.
The show has, obviously, been a lightning rod of controversy around these parts, because of the new take on dignified material and the questionable casting choices. Eddie Izzard and Portia de Rossi = possibly good. Jerry O’Connell = bad. The pilot in question was directed by X-men’s Bryan Singer and written by Pushing Daisies’ Bryan Fuller. Fuller is knee deep in bringing Hannibal to NBC (it has a 13 episode midseason order), which adds to the likelihood of the show going down the dark path of the previous attempts to bring the classic 60′s sitcom back to life.

Earlier this morning Deadline posted a story saying that NBC’s "Mockingbird Lane" pilot (based on the classic television series "The Munsters") wouldn't be going to series. Could the project have hit troubled waters? Bryan Fuller says no.
As per the original story... NBC was leaning toward passing on the project, a reboot of the classic 1960s sitcom. The project from Bryan Fuller had been in the works at NBC for a couple of seasons, originally developed by the previous regime during the 2010-11 development cycle. Fuller’s script was one of very few Bob Greenblatt kept in play when he took over the network in January 2011. It was redeveloped, and in November 2011 it was ordered to pilot around the same time another Fuller-written drama, Hannibal, landed a script-to-series deal at NBC.
Almost immediately after this "news" broke, Fuller took to Twitter with the following statement:
“NBC just informed me...

It seemed to be everywhere this morning – word was out that Bryan Fuller‘s reboot of 60′s horror comedy classic The Munsters, Mockingbird Lane, was “not likely” to get a series order. Reworded and reported over and over again, that it was too expensive and there were too many rewrites.

Update: Bryan Fuller tweeted “NBC just informed me the Deadline article regarding #MockingbirdLane was Dead Wrong. Stay tuned for updates!” ............................................. Deadline is reporting that NBC is close to passing on "Mockingbird Lane," although the decision is not final as of yet. The show was put together by Bryan Fuller, who is best known for his short-lived, yet beloved television series "Pushing Daisies." The pilot was directed by Bryan Singer ("X-Men") and it received strong praise for it's visuals from the few critics that viewed it. Don't feel too bad for Fuller as he has his hands full with another series "Hannibal." That show is about Hannibal Lector, a character made famous in "Silence of the Lambs." Where as "Mockingbird Lane" couldn't get past the pilot stage, "Hannibal" already has a 13-episode midseason order. The pilot, written by Bryan Fuller and to be directed by Bryan Singer, is described as a...

NBC's heavily hyped "Munsters" reboot "Mockingbird Lane" from "Pushing Daisies" mastermind Bryan Fuller now looks like a longshot to make it to air.
Although NBC touted the series as a strong midseason possibility during their upfront presentation to advertisers in May, the project was still in casting at that point. The network then backed a Comic Con panel in July with Fuller discussing plans for the show.
Now, Deadline is reporting that the network has seen the finished pilot and it doesn't appear the series will find a place on the network's schedule.
Directed by Bryan Singer ("X-Men," "The Usual Suspects") and starring Jerry O'Connell as Herman Munster, Portia de Rossi as Lily Munster and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa, the pilot apparently had an impressive visual style but "didn't quite work" overall.
Don't despair too much for Fuller though, he still has Hannibal Lecter prequel series "Hannibal" in the works...

Lisa Marie Presley, the daughter of rock 'n roll legend Elvis Presley, recently released her third studio album, titled "Storm & Grace," on May 15. The fifth track on the dark, emotional album is titled "So Long" and there are rumors floating around that it's her break-up song with the Church of Scientology.
The Village Voice spoke with Jefferson Hawkins, who was once a marketing guru for Scientology, but left the church in 2005. He tells the newspaper:
I think it expresses how a lot of people feel when they leave Scientology -- they have realized that it is a corrupt church, and is trying to control its members, micromanage their lives. They realize that it is a church without a soul. That is, it tries to present itself as a religion but has no compassion or tolerance or real care for people -- it's just all about money and control. What my followers on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ saw today: • Oh, and this is *precious*: "The conservative media watchdog, whose efforts are usually focused on the small screen, claims that 'showing unrated content is a threat to the continued viability of the [movie] ratings system.'" Exactly. The MPAA is unviable. Please, let us derail it. A Bully Ban? Parents Television Council Asks Theaters Not to Show Unrated Version of Documentary • Basically, it's because they're bullies themselves. But we knew that already. Why the MPAA doesn’t want your kid to see “Bully” • Probably a good move on Fox's part. The comments following this piece are atrocious, however. Fox movie studio pulls 'Neighborhood Watch' trailer, poster • I hate this notion that a critical opinion can be "wrong." Apart from the fact that it is all about opinion, a film's endurance isn't always about whether it resonated at the...

Director: Sophon Sakdaphisit. Review: Adam Wing. Vengeful ghosts have had a tough time of it recently but in some parts of the world they still refuse to move on, which means it’s business as usual for the team that brought us Coming Soon and Phobia. Coming Soon director and Shutter screenwriter Sophon Sakdaphisit takes to the director’s chair for Thai horror hit Laddaland, based on a Chiang Mai urban legend about a haunted housing estate. Jumping at the chance of a higher paid job, Thee (Saharat Sangkapreecha) moves to northern Thailand with his wife (Piyathida Woramuksik) and kids, and finally gets that dream home he's been striving for. Had he bothered to read the small print however, he would’ve come across the part that states ‘built on an Indian burial ground’. You’d think the creepy old lady would be enough to send them packing, either that...

If you thought Hollywood was done raiding Asian cinema for horror movie material, you’d be wrong. Dead wrong. Get it? Because the genre is horror? And people usually die in it? But I digress. The latest Asian horror movie to find its way to Hollywood via the remake chopping block is the 2006 Taiwanese supernatural drama “Silk”, about “scientists who capture the ghost of a child in an apartment and the detective charged with discovering clues to the ghost’s identity and demise.” Gold Circle Films is remaking the movie, and has assigned writers Marko King, Mary King and Jonathan Watters to take a crack at the script. The remake is expected to divert from the original premise, and the new premise is being called “Michael Crichton meets The Sixth Sense.” By which I’m guessing they mean science will figure prominently into the plot. Plus, ghosts, I would imagine.

Is Wayne the first musician ever to decline making a song with Biebs?
If you thought everyone in the music industry loved Justin Bieber, you were Dead wrong!
Rap megastar Lil Wayne, 28, gave a very revealing interview with Xxl saying Biebs, 17, is dying to work with him — but he refuses!
“That’s my little homie now,” Wayne says. “He texts me every night asking me to do [his] damn song. That’s my n****, but I can’t do it. Like I said, I don’t want to f**k his s**t up. But like I said, I want to work with Justin Timberlake. That boy got a voice. That boy can sing.”
What do you think, HollywoodLifers — is Wayne being rude or is he just putting music first?

Devil's Bridge from Stealth Media Group has a real life human troll, who tries to ruin a road trip for three men. The first trailer for this horror thriller shows this mythical beast in farmer's attire, as the men must pay the toll with their lives. Be forewarned, this first trailer for Devil's Bridge is very violent and those with stronger stomachs can watch one man lose his marbles over a simple footpath. More details are below.

The synopsis for Devil's Bridge:
"Sean takes his two friends into the rural wilds of Wales in search of an underworld specialist who can illegally revive his failing business. By now you should know the premise of the film. We see Brent Mitchell six months after a car accident that claimed the life of his father. Brent was behind the wheel at the time and the anguish and grief have taken a toll on his soul. He buries himself in his ear buds cranking out death metal. He wears a razor blade on a chain around his neck which he uses to self-harm. His mother is a shell of her former self as well and doesn't want Brent to get behind the wheel of a car ever again. The only thing that keeps Brent connected to the world around him is his girlfriend Holly. But someone else has their eyes on Brent. The end of the school year has come around and the year end dance is that night. The card carrying school loner Lola asks Brent to the dance.

Over the past few days, MTV Newsroom Blog readers helped establish that Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie" is his best collaboration with a female artist (narrowly beating out his team-up with Dido for "Stan") and that his best tag-team with a male singer or rapper is "No Love" (the Lil Wayne-assisted track from Recovery). Though neither of the polls in question are scientific, they do drive home the fact that Recovery is one of the strongest in Eminem's career and one of the best of the year.
Both of those polls have been limited to songs that appear on proper Eminem albums, but as many of the commenters have pointed out, Slim Shady is constantly in demand for collaborations on other albums. So now it's time to open up the poll to all Eminem collaborations. Any time Eminem has been on a song with another artist, its a reasonable track to consider.

Despite an incredible surge in downloads and airplay, Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie" was not able to topple Katy Perry's "California Gurls" from its perch atop the Billboard Hot 100. Slim Shady and collaborator Rihanna will have to settle for another week in second place. Recovery remains the top album in the country by leaps and bounds, and with no high-profile albums dropping this week, Eminem is sure to remain at the top of the chart for at least another seven days, further extending his incredible run this summer.
If Mr. Mathers wants to keep the momentum going, perhaps he should release "No Love," his team-up with Lil Wayne from Recovery, as his next single, as the MTV Newsroom blog readers have declared it his greatest collaboration. "No Love" took the top spot easily with nearly 42 percent of the vote. The songs behind it shook out in a fascinating fashion,...

After “Shaun of the Dead” left its bold and bloody mark on the world, everyone and their second cousin thought they could lense a zombie/comedy with little to no effort on their part. Guess what? They were wrong. Dead wrong. With the exception of “Fido” and, perhaps, “Zombies of Mass Destruction”, movies featuring the undead as comedic props have been extremely lackluster, both in terms of zombie carnage and genuine laughs. Matthew Kohnen’s “Aaah! Zombies!” (aka “Wasting Away”) is hoping to change things a little, and judging from the trailer lurking over yonder, it has the potential to deliver the proverbial goods. The story is nothing spectacular — friends turn into zombies and must fight for survival — but Kohnen’s approach is wholly unique. “Aaah! Zombies!” will gnaw pleasantly on your funny bone on September 28th, 2010.

For anyone that thought Geroge A. Romero was finished with zombies after his latest, Survival of the Dead, premiered on VOD (it hits theaters on May 28), you're wrong. Dead wrong. Romero feels like he's on a roll, and told Movieweb that he'd like to make two more Dead movies, both if which, like Survival, will follow characters from his own zombie apocalypse reboot, Diary of the Dead.
I have this idea. I'm off on a new track here with Diary of the Dead and this film, Survival of the Dead, sort of grows out of Diary. I have this conceit that I would like to do two more using characters from Diary. So that Diary would sort of be the Mother-ship of this little set of films that grows out of that and paints a portrait of what the world is like three months into the phenomenon. So I don't know?...
