Good movie

Uncommon Valor takes us through a day in the life of a firefighting unit in Salt Lake City, Utah. Headed by Batallion Chief Tom Riordan (Mitchell Ryan), the unit handles a series of emergencies culminating with their fighting a raging conflagration at County General Hospital. The hospital's head administrator, Dr. Margaret Houghton (Barbara Parkins) and her staff work to move patients to safety. The question is, who started the fire in the hospital and how?

Luckily, I was able to tape this movie and found out later that the reason it has never been shown since, is that it was the pilot for an unsold weekly TV series. It's a shame that it didn't pan out because I thought the pilot was quite good.

Other cast members were Ben Murphy, Belinda Montgomery, Gregory Sierra, and guest, Norman Fell.

Better than Backdraft
treat-111 April 2001
I saw this movie when it first aired and have wanted to see it again but every time the TV Guide says it is showing they end up showing the movie of the same title with Gene Hackman. It is also a good movie but this is the one I want to see. It is mainly about firefighters and was one of the best films I have ever had the pleasure of watching. I would take it 2 to 1 over "Backdraft" and that was an excellent movie.

"Uncommon Valor" is a story of bravery, sacrifice, and compassion that is unsurpassed. See it if you can!!
