Tony Ganios, best known for playing Anthony ‘Meat’ Tuperello in Porky’s, is dead at the age of 64. According to the actor’s fiancée Amanda, Tony was admitted to a hospital in New York on Saturday with a severe spinal cord infection but passed away of heart failure following surgery on Sunday.
“The last words we said to each other were, ‘I love you,’” Amanda wrote on X. “Love is an understatement. You are everything to me. My heart, my soul and my best friend.“
He made his feature-film debut in Philip Kaufman’s coming-of-age comedy-drama The Wanderers, which followed a group of Italian-American teenagers and their power struggles against rival gangs in the Bronx in 1963. The film was a success upon release, but its popularity grew over the decades as it developed a passionate following, even leading Warner Bros. to re-release the movie in 1996.

Editor’s Note: This week, Brian is busy shoving hotdogs into his mouth to prepare for Comic-Con. We asked how that would help, but he hung up on us, so I’m writing this week’s entry. Enjoy! Welcome back to Junkfood Cinema. You’re welcome. Our weekly dive into the gluttonous, saturated fat-saturated world of questionable movies has taken a detour into the educational this week, but it won’t be boring like a high school calculus class. It’ll be far worse than that. Why? Because we’ll be dissecting to death a piece of trash blowing about the graffiti-lined streets of some big city in the 1980s. We’ll rip out its guts, toss its sexual organs under a microscope, but then, yes then, we’ll get to its heart. And at its heart, we’ll learn the true meaning of dance. Or something. We will lift it up on the highest pedestal possible...

Justin's new album 'Believe' is a little over a week away from its release date, and reports claim that a track, 'Beauty and the Beat,' mentions Selena! Find out more about the unreleased track! Justin Bieber's album Believe will be released on June 19, and fans are anticipating the lyrical content of the pop star's third album! Nicki Minaj makes a guest appearance on "Beauty and the Beat" where Selena Gomez also makes a cameo! The track is produced by Max Martin and is being considered a "grinding and fist-pumping club banger!" Bieber sings seductively, "Body rock/ I can feel your body rock." Minaj flirts back, but notes that she's, "Gotta keep my eye out for Selena." So either Nicki is straight up flirting with Justin or she's keeping other ladies at a distance! The lyrics could go either way! We're highly anticipating the release of Believe so we can decipher for ourselves!

Justin Bieber is leaving the sweet, puppy-love days of his My World albums behind for the glitzier and more mature Believe, which depicts him in the club, falling in love with girls and the hard beats.
When he dropped the album's first single, "Boyfriend," back in March, it was clear he was making a statement, declaring, "I am man, hear me roar!"
That transition is explored even further on the rest of Believe. In addition to the more mature sound, the tracks are really strong and sequenced well — they play into one another. Bieber and Usher, the album's executive producer, have managed to craft an album that almost never misses a beat. And on...

Twenty years before Twilight there was another teen movie built around a love triangle involving a vampire and a non-vampire fighting over a naive virgin. It was called Once Bitten and starred a newcomer named Jim Carrey. Unlike Twilight it was a comedy on purpose.
A young pre-Ace Ventura, pre-“In Living Color” Jim Carrey starred as a teenage virgin pursued by an aging vamp played by Lauren Hutton who desperately needs to the suck the blood from the inner thigh of a male virgin in order to maintain her eternal youth. This doesn’t sit well with his chaste girlfriend (Karen Kopins).
Given how popular tweener vampire tales are and how the notion of “cougars” has become a part of the pop culture lexicon, it really is kind of amazing that a remake of Once Bitten hasn’t already come to fruition.

Commercial director Fredrik Bond has signed on to direct a new sci-fi film called Year 12, which if being produced by Joe Roth (Alice In Wonderland, Tears of the Sun).
The script was written by Edward Ricourt, and the story takes place 12 years after aliens have invaded Earth. Set in Manhattan, the story follows an underwater uranium miner who is recruited by the human resistance to smuggle uranium in his blood so they can use it to blow up the alien mothership.
Bond is a pretty talented individual who's made some really fun commercials and music videos, such as Moby's Body Rock. It will be cool to see how he does as a feature film director.
Bond has previously been attached to direct Hack/Slash and the English-language remake of The Host.
Here are some of the commercials Bond has directed. The guy has a really fun style.

Luke Wilson in Middle Men
Photo: Paramount Pictures Talk about Filmmaking 101; Middle Men is a would-be interesting story saddled with cliched trailer music and obnoxious voice over describing everything you see on screen as if you didn't have eyes and a brain of your own. This is a film where the straight men play it straight and everyone else plays it way over the top, and it's all too bad because this is a story that really could have turned a few heads had it been handled differently.
Producer Christopher Mallick, of whom the story is loosely based, describes the film in the press notes as something of a Wall Street-like feature only instead of having to do with the stock market it's dealing with the porn industry. Of course, as he points out, it's not about porn. He likes to say it's about greed, which it is for some parties involved,...
