The town of Rocky Top, Lake City at the time of filming, is the 3rd name that the town has had.
Rocky Top was founded in 1856 as Coal Creek, and was changed to Lake City in 1936 to capitalize on the building of the new Norris Dam nearby, the name was again changed in 2014 to encourage the building of theme parks and water parks, to try to bring in tourists.
A short clip in the 1986 movie King Kong Lives was also filmed in Rocky Top, TN.
Co-star Tom Wopat meet future wife, and Rocky Top local, Vickie Allen, while filming Burning Rage, they were married in 1983 and divorced in 2000.
