Weakest Link –Pictured: Jane Lynch — (Photo by: Chris Haston/NBC) Before conquering Hollywood, Jane Lynch spent her early career in Chicago, where she spent time at The Second City and Annoyance Theater, two institutions well known for their emphasis on improvisation. Lynch’s improv abilities have served her well, especially when she was cast in several of Christopher Guest’s largely improvised mockumentaries, and they continue to help her in her latest endeavor: hosting NBC’s new version of Weakest Link. Game show hosts thrive on being able to react to things on the fly, and Lynch, who previously hosted Hollywood Game Night, says that running a game show is a skill that seems to come naturally to her. According to industry insider and leaker Midori, also known as MbKKssTBhz5, a Kingdom Hearts and Fortnite collaboration is in the works. While no official date has been set, the news is definitely exciting for fans of both franchises.
The buzz regarding the beloved gaming franchise joining Fortnite’s ever-expanding universe suggests that the series is continuing its recent revival and expansion, and given Disney’s connection to the developers of the two projects, Square Enix and Epic Games, it’s easy to believe this pretty convincing leak.
The Series Joining Fortnite Makes a Lot of Sense
Disney invested $1.5 billion in Fortnite to create an expansive universe.
Firstly, the Disney connection is very relevant. Both of these franchises have strong ties to Disney, making this collaboration a natural fit. This partnership would also be mutually beneficial, as Kingdom Hearts would gain exposure to Fortnite’s vast and younger audience, introducing it to the series.

Neal Mohan wants the Television Academy to watch more YouTube videos. The CEO of the Google-owned platform recently penned a guest column in The Hollywood Reporter. His thesis was a simple one: The work creators are doing is excellent enough to deserve Emmy consideration.
“Creators are defining a new era of entertainment,” Mohan wrote. “And they deserve the same acclaim as other creative professionals.”
Mohan supported his case by citing several of YouTube’s biggest channels. He sees the Sean Evans-hosted interview series Hot Ones as a show that is “reinventing” its genre, and he celebrated Good Mythical Morning hosts Rhett & Link for the “speed of their creativity and their strategies to respond to viewer feedback.” Michelle Khare, the creator behind Challenge Accepted, is another YouTube-based personality who is “pushing the envelope,” according to Mohan.
Why is YouTube so keen on the idea of the TV and creator worlds colliding?...

Wes Ball’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is finally in theatres, and the film has been welcomed to positive reviews from both fans and critics. Many complimented it for its stunning visual effects and added that while it may not be the best film in the franchise, it is still a worthy addition to it. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes saw Owen Teague in the lead role of Noa, a young chimpanzee.

If you were a kid growing up in the ’80s, one thing was true. Video games were the spawn of Satan. Okay, we know that isn’t true. But our parents? Adults were terrified of your Atari and your Nintendo, and filmmakers made all sorts of movies that painted games in a negative light. In Wargames a nuclear war was damn near started! While there were plenty of films that understood the imagination and the creative spirit that video games could foster, such as Tron and The Last Starfighter for examples, there’s also a film such as Cloak & Dagger, which goes to some really dark territory to teach a lesson to kids that, honestly, everyone could stand to learn.
Cloak and Dagger starred Henry Thomas. Y’know, the E.T. kid (who we recently profiled on Wtf Happened to this Celeb), who grew up to become the Suicide...

Days of our Lives stars are setting out to try their hand at another very popular genre: game shows.
The Weakest Link returns in April for Season 4, and several fan favorites from Days will be on hand to kick off in style.
Martha Madison (ex-Belle), Lindsay Arnold (ex-Allie), Galen Gering (Rafe), Tina Huang (Trask), Bryan Dattilo (Lucas), Victoria Konefal (ex-Ciara), Eric Martsolf (Brady) and Zach Tinker (ex-Sonny) are all competing for the grand prize.
For those unaware, Weakest Link forces contestants to answer questions to add money to the pot, but a wrong answer has serious ramifications.
Not only does a wrong answer drain the pot, but it also can lead to a contestant being eliminated, which happens at the end of each round.
Jane Lynch hosts Weakest Link, putting her signature wit, humor, and sass to good use.

Even though the Big N has released five more consoles since the Super Nintendo, many Nintendo fans would say the Snes is still the best console that the House of Mario has ever released.
Much of the console’s success has to do with its roster of games, of course. From third-party titles to Nintendo’s own franchises, this was an era—from 1990 to 1996—that showcased the platform’s total dominance over the industry, even as the Sega Genesis proved to be a strong competitor—and we all know who won that console arms race in the end. It’s not difficult to see why: Super Mario World, Super Metroid, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past are the very best games in their respective series. And that’s not even counting games made by outside studios, such as Capcom and Konami.

Released on 21st November 1998, The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time had a seismic effect on the games industry that is felt to this day.
The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time was launched on the Nintendo 64 25 years ago, on 21st November 1998. That’s a long, long time ago, and yet this remarkable game still has an outsize influence on titles being made today.
Context-sensitive buttons and lock-on targeting were both introduced with Ocarina Of Time, and both remain very much a part of the game-maker’s playbook. Going back to this seminal Zelda title now, its open-world gameplay feels familiar, a pattern seen in everything from Assassin’s Creed to Ghost Of Tsushima. Here’s a giant field, here’s a horse, now go have fun.
But if you imagine what the world was like 25 years before Ocarina Of Time was released, it’s remarkable to think what a leap it was,...

For the July 17 edition of Weakest Link, hosted by Jane Lynch, eight WWE stars face off in a different match, but with the same smack talk as usual, especially from The Miz and Kofi Kingston. In TV Insider’s exclusive clip above, The Miz (a The Real World alum) incorrectly guessed iguana when asked to name the reptile that changes color based on its mood. As the grappler winces at the wrong answer, Lynch says the correct answer is chameleon. Kingston then compares WWE stars to chameleons, who have to “wear a lot of hats.” After saying Kingston tells The Miz he should know what a chameleon is, The Miz aggressively answers, “I’m just me! I am just a humble man!” Kingston mocks the suggestion that The Miz is humble as he continues his tirade. “A devoted father, a loving husband, and a simple man in a simple suit playing the Weakest Link.

Ever since the first gameplay footage of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was revealed, fans have been grappling with a sense of déjà vu. As the sequel to Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom was always going to be somewhat similar to its hit predecessor. Even still, some fans wondered if the game was perhaps too similar to Breath of the Wild. Some have gone so far as to call the game Breath of the Wild Dlc. Others have simply wondered if the game will justify its $70 price point.

Quests are an underrated part of the Legend of Zelda franchise. Granted, each Zelda game is basically one massive quest, but I’m talking about the series’ various side quests. They’re the adventures you find off the main story path. Some are so obscure that you can easily beat the rest of the game without ever realizing they exist.
The very best Legend of Zelda quests are often worth going out of your way for, though. They’re often daunting tasks that push fans to their limits while granting them painfully little knowledge of the road ahead or even what the reward for their considerable efforts will be. Often, the reward is an incredible new item or similar discovery that offers a practical gameplay benefit. Sometimes, though, the reward is the experience.
Yet, in the incredible history of Legend of Zelda quests, none quite compares to Majora’s Mask‘s Testament of Love.

Weakest Link –Pictured: Jane Lynch — (Photo by: Chris Haston/NBC) If you were drawing up a list of the most versatile performers in Hollywood, it would be tough to keep Jane Lynch off that list. As an actor, she’s equally adept at both comedy and drama. When she was starring on Glee, we got a taste of her singing and dancing skills. She’s a prolific voiceover artist, with more than 60 films and TV shows on her résumé. She’s hosted awards shows, reality specials, and game shows, including Weakest Link. About the only thing she hasn’t done has been hosting the nightly news, but now that we’ve given them the idea, who knows? Going into season 3 of "Star Trek: Picard," every Trekkie knew to expect a "The Next Generation" reunion that has been decades in the making, and so far the first few episodes have fully delivered on that promise. But episode 3, titled "Seventeen Seconds" (you can read /Film's recap by Witney Seibold here), may have just reshuffled the deck of cards completely. The biggest plot twist of this young season, as it turns out, has connections to a very different "Trek" series altogether: "Deep Space Nine." The 30 million users who take advantage of Linktree‘s link-in-bio platform can now harness some additional revenue streamers. In a blog post, the creator services firm announced three developments: An tool for receiving gifts from fans, a partnership with vending platform SendOwl, and new merch options courtesy of Bonfire.
All three updates are intended to advance creator monetization across Linktree’s network of links-in-bio and connected apps. The company describes its Buy Me A Gift feature as a relative of its tip jars. Users can appeal to their fans for monetary support and can accept gifts through PayPal, Venmo, credit cards, or several other means.
Since rising to popularity on Twitch, gifted subscriptions have been added to platforms like YouTube and Snapchat. Linktree’s gifts are a bit different since there are no subscriptions involved. In order to encourage users to turn on Buy Me A Gift, Linktree is temporarily waiving the associated transaction fees.

The Legend of Zelda primarily revolves around three characters: protagonists Princess Zelda (duh) and Link, as well as the villainous Ganondorf. Or is it Ganon?
Ganon is arguably one of the most iconic villains in video game history, which is especially impressive when you consider he was also one of the first. When gamers were introduced to the character in the first Legend of Zelda game, Ganon was just a big, blue, anthropomorphic boar who teleported around the room and shot fireballs at Link. During that fight, Ganon had neither backstory nor personality, but subsequent entries expanded on the character and revealed he used to be a human (retconned to Gerudo) named Ganondorf. Ocarina of Time let players see and fight Ganondorf for the first time, and ever since, the franchise has switched between the two villains, and because of shifting tones, it’s hard to get a beat on the two characters.

"They're not models!" the curator immediately corrected me when I erred in describing the miniatures puppets on display.
In an age of computer-generated 3D overtaking pop culture consciousness, the Oregon-based stop-motion studio Laika (also stylized as Laika) shoots for the stars, creating an alive "it's actually there" tangibility. Founded in 2005, Laika has raked in recognition from prestige circles, earning nods from the Academy Awards, Annie Awards, and a Golden Globe win. Now the textured puppets of Laika have stop-motioned their way to New York's Museum of the Moving Image for the "Laika: Life in Stop Motion" exhibition.
I had a chat with curator Barbara Miller and Laika's Marketing Production Manager Dan Pascal to get to know these puppets and the evolution of Laika. An exhibit 10 years in the making, it spotlights characters and sets from Laika classics: from "Coraline" (2009), "ParaNorman" (2012), "The Boxtrolls" (2014), "Kubo and the Two Strings" (2016), and "Missing Link...

Some new gameplay footage for Sonic Frontiers has dropped, and it looks an awful lot like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
“Sega shared a decent chunk of Sonic Frontiers gameplay this morning, showing off some of the shenanigans the blue hedgehog will get up to in his next adventure. Sonic collects rings. Sonic dashes through verdant fields. Sonic grinds floating rails. Sonic climbs (and then eventually runs up the sides of) ancient towers. Sonic solves simplistic puzzles for collectible knick-knacks.”

One of Marvel Comic’s earliest characters, Namor the Sub-Mariner, is finally coming to the MCU in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but fans shouldn’t expect Marvel to follow the comics origin story too closely.
“Rumors are swimming about Marvel’s own aquatic antagonist Namor the Sub-Mariner. The character is set to make his MCU debut in November’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where he’ll be played by Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta. The son of a human sea captain and a princess of the undersea kingdom of Atlantis, Namor’s origin story will be changed from its ancient Greek roots to one of Mayan culture.”

Apparently, it was discussed, but Tom Cruise appearing as a variant of Iron Man in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was never a real possibility.
“Few Marvel movies have had as many rumors surrounding them as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. At some point, in some corner of the internet, basically, any Marvel character you can imagine was rumored to be appearing. Now that the film is in theaters, we saw that some of that actually came true. The biggest rumor did not though, but there’s more to the story.”

This week’s horror and sci-fi home media releases are a fun bunch, as we have a lot of great new movies to look forward to, as well as a ton of killer classic titles headed home to various formats. If you missed it in theaters, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is being released alone and then alongside the first two Ghostbusters films as a three-movie collection, and for those of you who love mind-blowing animation, you’re going to definitely want to check out The Spine of Night. One of my favorite films from 2021 was Danishka Esterhazy’s Slumber Party Massacre, so if you missed seeing it then, now you can catch up with it courtesy of Scream Factory.

‘Link Wray’: Jon Brewer Making Doc About Guitarist Who Influenced Jimmy Page, Pete Townshend, Others
Exclusive: Production is underway on Cardinal Releasing the documentary Link Wray about the influential American musician.
Fred Lincoln “Link” Wray Jr, the guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist who became popular in the late 1950s, most notably with the hit 1958 instrumental “Rumble,” was an influence on artists including Jimmy Page, Pete Townsend, Neil Young and Bob Dylan. He began in country music but went on to be known for rock ‘n’ roll, rockabilly and instrumental rock. Growing up in North Carolina, he and his family experienced discrimination as a result of being Indigenous.
Dressed in black leather, Wray was viewed as a rebel and an early punk. Rolling Stone placed the late musician at No. 45 on its list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. He was a nominee for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013 and 2017.

The world of Legend of Zelda fan theories is usually a pretty wild place (some fans still believe that Link and Zelda are brother and sister), but I’m not sure if I’ve ever heard a Zelda fan theory as crazy or amusing as the idea that the real villain of The Legend of Zelda franchise is Link himself.
Now, it’s possible that you’ve heard variations of this story before that essentially amount to “Link is occasionally a bit of jerk.” We’ve probably all joked about his fondness for smashing pots and swiping at chickens at one point or another, and it’s certainly amusing to think about how some of Link’s basic actions probably would ruin a Hyrulian Npc’s day.
This isn’t that, though. This particular theory is a truly wild deep dive into the Zelda universe that, at the very least,...

The 73rd Writers Guild of America Awards took place on Sunday (March 21) in simultaneous non-televised ceremonies held in Los Angeles and New York. The WGA was the first of the guilds to be heard from in this extra-long Oscar season. But don’t look to these results for any clarity on the screenplay races at the Academy Awards.
The stringent rules of the WGA prohibit non-guild members from competing. This year, three of the 10 scripts nominated by the writers branch of the academy were deemed ineligible here: the adapted screenplays of “The Father” and “Nomadland” (which we predict will win the Oscar) and the original screenplay for “Minari.”
The guild did align with the academy three-for-five in Best Adapted Screenplay, with “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm,” “One Night in Miami” and “The White Tiger” competing at both. “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” and “News of the World” round out the guild nominees. Our...

Nine has announced that quiz program Weakest Link will return to Australia after nearly 20 years with comedian and actress Magda Szubanski as host.
This new series is being produced BBC Studios and will be shown on Nine and 9Now.
Szubanski said the show was right up her alley.
“I’ve pretended to be nice my whole career – now I finally get to play myself,” she said.
“No, I will not be making the contestants look stupid. They’re perfectly capable of doing that themselves. I love to watch people squirm, and not in a sexy way. I look forward to hosting some of Australia’s best and brightest… just not on this show.”
In each episode, eight contestants enter the studio as total strangers and must work together to bank the maximum amount of prizemoney available in each round. Contestants take turns to answer general knowledge questions and build chains of correct answers.

The hit British import and international game show format Weakest Link is making a comeback with Jane Lynch as host and executive producer. NBC has greenlit 13 episodes of the rapid-fire quiz show, with production to begin later this year.
Co-produced by BBC Studios’ Los Angeles production arm and Universal Television Alternative Studio, the new version of Weakest Link will deliver the fast-paced and quick-witted pillars of the original British format created by the BBC with a few modern twists, NBC says. The hybrid game show sees contestants answer general knowledge questions to bank prize money across multiple rounds. At the end of each round, the contestants vote out who they perceive to be the “Weakest Link” remaining.
“I’ve been a longtime fan of this game-changing quiz show since it first debuted,” said Lynch. “Each time the phrase ‘You are the Weakest Link. Goodbye.’ passes my lips, it will be with great reverence and delight.

“Da 5 Bloods underscores how egregious it is that Lee has been perennially overlooked for the Academy’s top prizes; even as one of this year’s most radically inventive films, it merely exemplifies Lee’s immense and under-appreciated talent.”

While Star Wars is lacking in LGBTQ+ representation, it is not completely without. Here’s a dive into the queer history of the franchise.
“The long road to meaningful representation of LGBTQ+ creatives and characters in our popular media is a history interwoven throughout decades of media narratives. For Star Wars, one of the biggest pieces of popular culture in living memory, that story has come in fits and starts—and in many ways, it’s still a story that is only just beginning.”
