A light but likeable adventure
PeterM2714 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is an entertaining and amiable adventure-comedy, with two attractive but little-known lead actors, and an array of great support actors.

Two friends, Harry and Bluey, steal a thousand head of cattle and trek the mob across country from Roma in Queensland to Adelaide There is some romance when Harry (Paul Goddard) is prompted to leave his underpaid station-hand job to follow the girl he likes, Lily (Kathryn Walker) to Adelaide.

The action is well handled, and the 2,000 mile desert ordeal slips by quickly and happily enough, allowing plenty of time for another bunch of twists in the tale, before the boy and girl ride off into the sunset together. It's not deep and meaningful, but it is very likeable.
