Insaaf review :
'VINOD KHANNA COMES BACK' screamed the posters!!
Both Insaaf and Satyamev Jayate were competing with each other to be Khanna's comeback vehicle after his brief Osho stint. Both the films got A certificate from the censor, declared the same date of release but then realised that they would eat in to each others business. Finally, Mukul Anand's Insaaf released first at Mumbai's Apsara Cinema with the credit title "Re-introducing Vinod Khanna" while Satyamev Jayate came two weeks later at Novelty Cinema. The two week gap benefited both the films and they turned successful at the box office.
In Insaaf, Vinod played a professor who loses his job and ends up working with the underworld don played superbly by Suresh Oberoi. Looking charming as before, Khanna's entry was met with claps and cheers from the audience who loved his performance as well as the action. His steamy scenes with Dimple Kapadia were also much appreciated. Insaaf was a hit from the first show with the audience giving a warm welcome to Vinod. Shakti Kapoor's act as Inspector Bhinde also struck the right chord with the viewers.
