Dated Disney ride that's now gone
don-lockwood4 February 2006
It's sad to see so many attractions at Walt Disney World be discarded and replaced, but this one was unfortunately dated in terms of special effects. However, it was a novel premise, perfect for Epcot, and in many ways a counterpoint to MGM's Star Tours ride based on "Star Wars." A pre-"Leaving Las Vegas" Elisabeth Shue appears in the film/ride, well cast as an explorer of the human body, though fewer would recognize her today. The ride was featured in the now-gutted Wonders of Life pavilion at Disney's Epcot in Orlando, which also housed "The Making of Me" film starring Martin Short and "Cranium Command." For its day it was very technologically advanced and fun.

Journey in innerspace.

Body Wars is a film attraction ride that should not be missed when you go to Florida. This attraction is in the Epcot Center at the Wonders of Life pavilion. Body Wars is about a doctor investigating through the human body, while the audience journeys with her travels.

This attraction is not closed or gone!

Wonders of Life (The pavilion that houses this attraction) is not closed and is not Gutted! IT was open today as a matter of fact! Body Wars Ran today! It is not shut down! Wonders of Life runs on 'seasonal' status and is not always open to the public.

I agree with the previous posted however, this is an excellent attraction and not too be missed! The effects are dated, but still very entertaining. Seeing young Elizabeth Shue and the various other Hollywood 'others' in this show is quite entertaining!

The OP probably saw some of the rumor floating around about it being closed and posted it here!

The body is a universe

Warning: Spoilers
"Body Wars" is the video for a Disney theme park ride that takes the participants not far into space this time, but instead as shrunk versions of themselves into the human body as they are on a mission to find out what happened to young scientist Dr. Cynthia Lair. The cast is really decent for a theme park video as by today's standards we have Oscar nominees and Emmy nominees in here. And the director is nobody else than the late Star Trek legend Leonard Nimoy, but yeah the ride itself is fairly dated today and it is also nothing that will really sparkle your interest in biology or anatomy I would. It seems the ride is no longer used today by Disney and it got replaced by other rides that are more on the level of technical progress these days. Maybe the right movie on the subject, perhaps a remake of "Fantastic Voyage" can bring back a modernized version? I am not sure. But this old version gets a thumbs-down from me and I am glad it ran for five minutes only.

Interesting but aging simulator

I've ridden this attraction many times and I have to admit it's not my favorite, mostly from the fact that it's beginning to show it's age. It is, however, very well done and very detailed. I recommend at least seeing once if you haven't yet. A note to those who might get motion sickness: Feel free to request a motionless ride when you get to the front of the line. Often when they are not busy they are more than happy to oblige, and you might even get to see it without anyone else with you :) Also, unlike Star Tours, videotaping is welcome (and MUCH easier with no motion).
