Almost a good science fiction...
chicagrrl10 September 2000
The story evolves around a nomadic Latin American cult who believes Martha's baby can cure a curse, and Martha's search for her baby. Through a twist of events, fictional history, and somwhat tepid acting by most of the characters, one is left feeling a big incredulous. The concept of the movie is fascinating, but somehow one wishes the plot could be a bit more developed and the acting a little better. Nancy McKeon, however, shines through with her acting. It's a good video to rent if you like the paranormal.

A good flick
Gigglebot8 March 1999
Even though most critics have panned this one I thought it was great. Nancy Mckeon formerly of the Facts Of Life has always been bashed for her acting, but this movie proves she can hold her own with the best of them. This movie boasts excellent scenery, a believable plot, and terrific acting all around. This is a film not to be missed.

* * out of 4. (AKA The Lightning Incident)
brandonsites19817 October 2003
A woman's baby is kidnapped by a cult and the film details her struggle to get her baby back. Not nowhere near as bad as you would expect for a TV movie made for the USA channel. It has decent enough casting / performances and the direction is competent enough to rival any other theaterical horror / suspense movie on the market. It just suffers from one little problem, it is dull. Really dull at that.

Rated R; Violence.

Another green-eyed babe gets tormented by an evil brown-eyed cult.

I've seen enough of these light-eyed gets bashed by dark-eyed flicks before in the past. This flick isn't the only time I've seen an emerald eyed lady have bad thing done to her. I've seen it done before on Big Trouble in Little China. Only difference is on Big trouble, there was no baby and the dark eyed ones was an evil Chinatown cult led by Lo-Pan. On this movie, the dark eyed ones was an evil Mexican-Indian cult led by some lady, and yes, it features a baby in it. Not to say that it's bad or anything. The plot on this one is basic. Indian cult grabs baby from green-eyed mother and uses it for sacrifice ritual so all ladies from that tribe will be fertile again.

Why those with the Green-eyed gene? Oh why?
