- A man frequently threatens a woman with a scalpel while she cries and looks terrified.
- A man presses a scalpel to a woman's cheek and draws a drop of blood. He threatens to cut "by degrees" if she does not comply.
- A man tells a captive woman that he is going to cut her throat later.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

- This episode is very intense and frightening throughout. Some may find it unusually lurid compared to other Columbo episodes. Scenes with the kidnapper threatening the woman with a scalpel are long and drawn out, and extremely menacing. Lingering camera shots of the woman's bound semi-undressed body may be uncomfortable for some.

Sex & Nudity
- A woman is digitally raped. The man's hand is not shown during the act, but her reaction and the placement makes it clear what is happening. Very disturbing, realistic portrayal of sexual assault. (The police arrive and interrupt the rape before it can continue any further.)
Violence & Gore
- A man forces a woman into bed and draws the blunt edge of a scalpel down her cheek. He then begins to sexually assault her.
- A man is shot dead by several cops while a woman screams. No blood is shown.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- The final sequence is very intense, with long drawn-out scenes of the killer preparing to rape and kill the victim, interspersed with brief shots of the police speeding toward the scene of the crime. The start of the sexual assault is filmed very realistically and may be upsetting to some viewers. The shooting at the end is loud and sudden.
