Sex & Nudity

  • The extent of the nudity is that of a brief shot of naked young boy from behind, and scenes of a dancing woman wearing nothing but a thong, nipple coverings and tall boots. The extent of the sex is explicit sensuality between a young boy and a young girl, and implied sex between a man and a woman.
  • When a naked young girl begins to make out with naked young boy, the nudity is out of frame until they part from physical contact in order to address a distraction. The naked boy can then be momentarily seen from behind scrambling to pull up his shorts and put on his clothes, no frontal nudity. The encounter had been initiated by the girl who had taken the time to unbutton and remove the boy's shirt.
  • In the closeup shot of the almost-bare buttocks of a dancing woman, one of the many men among the audience to a dancer gently tugs at the back of the thong she is wearing and slips a folded five-dollar bill between the thong and her otherwise bare behind.
  • When a woman operating a motorcycle on public ways agrees to provide a ride to a hitchhiking young boy, she places his hands on her shirt-covered breasts as the fixtures for the passenger to hold onto for the duration of the ride.
  • A young boy goes inside a night club through an unattended unsecured entrance. The club hosts strip shows. There are shots of how he reacts with curiosity, worry and shame to who and what behaviors he is seeing there from his incognito position, so his observation is purely implicit.
  • At a public setting, a man's bare behind is briefly exposed when he pulls the top of his shorts away from his waist toward the top of his legs in order to moon some folks.
  • Throughout the movie, a young boy reveals many wonders and misconceptions he holds about things relating to relationships and sexual intercourse. When soliciting two men for him to sell contraband to them, he mentions some kind of sexual bonus as part of the deal, to which the men inquire for clarification that he can connect them with girls who are prostitutes, further which the boy does not seem to know how to answer.
  • In voiceover monologue, a young boy speaks about what his girlfriend (one grade ahead of him) and other folks have told him about the meaning of orgasms. Sometime after acquiring a contraband substance, he asks a man, "Do people use this stuff because it helps them become sex maniacs?"
  • A man and woman can be seen sitting up in bed with sheets covering their otherwise naked bodies. Unbeknown to them, they are being briefly observed by a young boy. The woman mentions how she has not felt so good in a long time, the implication being that she and the man had engaged in sexual intercourse some moments earlier.

Violence & Gore

  • The extent of the violence is that of two young boys robbing another young boy via the threat of throat slashing, and in another scene, men drawing and aiming firearms, while other men are fist fighting and physically struggling with each other. There is no gore apart from glimpses of an injured fish.
  • A grown man angrily shoves a young boy after threatening him. The boy stumbles backward from the force and collides with another man and a door. Later on, the man angrily slaps the boy across the cheek, and looks as though he wants to batter him.
  • In assessing a young boy's sincerity and professional integrity about an underworld transaction, two grown men briefly physically intimidate the boy, tugging at and seizing him, while speaking coarsely to him.
  • A young boy is ambushed by two masked young boys, one of whom holds a switchblade to the victim's throat with one hand while tugging on the victim's ear with the other hand, before these robbers run away with the objects that the victim was carrying, as the victim collapses onto the ground. However, the context of the particular "violent" incident is a farce.
  • A dog chews on a fish, lacerating it, and a young boy places his fingers into a fish's mouth and tears the fish wide open. These graphic mutilations are expectedly gory and slightly bloody.
  • As a young boy approaches the entrance to a night club, there is some background commotion among two men and a woman, whereby the men are tugging at one another and using their fists to strike each other.

Profanity

  • In one scene, a grown man menacingly yells at a young boy, telling him, "Don't fuck with my head, kid!" Throughout the movie, not many curse words besides "fuck" are uttered, and even that word is used only a few times.
  • In voiceover monologue, a young boy refers to a woman's breasts as "tits". He also explains a particular character's unique way of signaling to him "to shut the fuck up."

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A major element of the story is that of an adolescent child uncovering hidden packets of cocaine, stealing them and pushing the substance to grownups, even once successfully dealing. In one scene, a man and woman drink beer and smokes cigarettes. Beyond that, cocaine is the only drug to appear, and there is a scene in which a man scores a line of cocaine.
  • When a man commands a young boy to dispose of cocaine, the boy pours the powdery material from a packet, and the particles disperse into the air, some of it floating near the boy's face. Thankfully, the boy seems unaffected.
  • One particular character can frequently be seen with a lit cigarette gripped between his lips. There is fairly regular cigarette smoking among the adults.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The tension and violence are very mildly intense but hardly frightening. Chris, an adolescent child who is the main character, appears vulnerable numerous times but rarely is he ever in grave danger. The whole movie is conforms mostly to lighthearted themes, with fair amounts of rest and relaxation.
