The Story: A college kid (Brandon Lee) witnesses a gangland hit. Betrayed by witness protection, he’s recruited by a task force headed by a no-nonsense cop (Powers Boothe) as a pawn, but little do they know he’s more than able to handle himself against any of his foes.
The Players: Starring: Brandon Lee, Powers Boothe, Tzi Ma & Nick Mancuso. Directed by Dwight H. Little.
The History: The early nineties were the heyday of the martial arts movie star. Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme were consistently churning out hits, so if they could become icons, why not a guy like Brandon Lee? He was movie star handsome, could move, was charismatic and could act. Oh yeah – he also happened to be the son of the greatest Kung-Fu movie star of all time, Bruce Lee.
“I wouldn’t want to refer to them as stepping stones. That seems to demean them.

Burt Young, a former boxer who was in Sylvester Stallone’s corner as his brother-in-law Paulie in the six Rocky films and received a supporting actor Oscar nomination for his turn in the original, has died. He was 83.
He died on Oct. 8 in Los Angeles, his daughter, Anne Morea Steingieser, told The New York Times Wednesday.
A tough guy in real life who usually played tough guys onscreen, Young portrayed a rotten client of gumshoe Jack Nicholson’s in Chinatown (1974), was mobster “Bed Bug” Eddie in The Pope of Greenwich Village (1984) and played Rodney Dangerfield’s protector/chauffeur Lou in Back to School (1986).
Young also appeared in four movies in four straight years with fellow Queens guy James Caan — Cinderella Liberty (1973), The Gambler (1974), The Killer Elite (1975) and Harry and Walter Go to New York (1976) — before they worked together again in Mickey Blue Eyes (1999).

It seems that both of Radical Entertainment’s Prototype games are on their way to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. At least, that’s what all the evidence suggests.
After briefly appearing on the Xbox One Store earlier this month, achievement and trophy lists for both Prototype 2 and its predecessor have appeared on the sister sites Xbox Achievements and PlayStation Trophies. They’re joined by a suspicious July 14th release date, which is awfully peculiar given that Activision has been mum about these remasters’ existence.
According to that since removed store listing, Prototype 2 will re-release with a host of Dlc, including: Radnet, The Colossal Mayhem Pack and The Excessive Force Pack. However, like the collection itself, those details have yet to be confirmed. As such, we recommend taking everything with a grain of salt for now.
Hell, we don’t even know who’s in charge of these ports, given that Radical Entertainment no longer exists.

Summer movie season is a magic time of year when Hollywood traditionally rolls out its most appealing merchandise. It’s true that some summer movie seasons are better than others. This is our ranking of all the summer movie seasons since 1980 from worst to best.
On January 20th, 1975, Steven Spielberg and Universal Studios released Jaws. The movie landscape would be forever changed from that date. Jaws is widely credited as being the first blockbuster film because it was the first movie to make over $100 million (non-adjusted). The fact that the film had a meager $8 million budget meant that it was a huge cash cow for the studio and rocketed Spielberg to the the forefront of a new generation of filmmakers for a new era of movie mass-consumption. George Lucas and Spielberg followed up in 1977 with Star Wars, which became a sensational and very profitable hit. It helped to convince production...

Firaxis has built something of an empire out of empowering gamers everywhere to cobble together globe-spanning empires of their own. "Civilization V" arrives in stores on September 21 and, after diving in for a marathon, day-long round of world domination with Raamses II and the Egyptian people, I'm pleased to report that the game is shaping up to be every bit the evolution over previous "Civ" games that a fan could hope for.
A lengthy list of changes have been made in "Civ V" over previous games, and a number of them will be immediately apparent the first time you play through you first game. After the jump, I've highlighted a few ways in which these new elements fundamentally change the way you play the game.

(S05E10) "He's a killer with a badge." - The ghost of the week to Melinda and Eli
Bad cop or good cop? That was the question Melinda and company asked themselves while working on the case of the week, which involved a cop.
"Excessive Force" is an episode that fell flat for me. It's like the writers spent all their energy writing the November sweeps episodes and, now that sweeps are over, offered us a stand alone episode that didn't give us a tiny bit of character development.

In the ever ephemeral world of music there are many legends. Some rise to the heavens, flare up, and burn out quickly; leaving behind ash and bone that is quickly swept up by the sagacious whore-like wind we call ‘The Industry.‘ Others create monumental legacies -album after album, side project after side project --for their listeners that resonate through everything they do, causing a crystalline harmony that makes them more and more profound as they hum in our ears. Digital grapevines resonate and pulse with the susurrations of every nuance and movement these legends leave in their wake, lamenting the retirement of Al Jourgensen, laughing at the latest antics from Marilyn Manson, and reminiscing. That same reminiscent spirit makes people line up night after night, all over the world, to bask in the glories -past and present --that these artists radiate. However, it’s a rare event for these legends...

The tagline for the new film "My Bloody Valentine 3-D" is "Nothing Says 'Date Movie' Like A 3-D Ride To Hell!" and while I'm fairly certain that's not actually true, I admire the gumption it takes to put something that intentionally silly on a poster. "MBV3-d"'s marketing -- which includes a movie trailer that explains how 3-D works, in much the way an airplane safety video shows how to operate a seatbelt -- recalls the great bombastic advertisements of exploitation cinema's yesteryear, when outlandish hucksterisms like "Nothing Like This Has Ever Happened Before!" (from 1953's "It Came From Outer Space) or "3-D Thrill! Fuel For the Human Bonfire!" (From 1954's "The Mad Magician") were the accepted mode of junk movie pitch.
We've gotten away from that grand, goofy tradition, but "MBV3-d" has me all nostalgic for the crazy taglines from exploitation films past.
