A delightful and curious story about an unusual meeting between a conservative old lady (Virginia McKenna) and a drag queen (Rodney Hudson) while trapped in an elevator
during the massive New York blackout of July 13, 1977. "A Lady in Waiting" is a fun tale about seeing beyond the surface of appearances and how different realities can find
ways to find common causes and help themselves out of unusual circumstances.
A very humored and enlightened story that it's filled with surprises, specially the ones related with the Brit old lady who has a whole mysterious background. Greatly well
acted by the duo, full of charm and the story intrigues us and fascinate us through the whole ordeal of theirs. A nice story about respect to others and also about self-respect,
as the evening progresses and the old lady reveals why she's in the building and visiting that particular apartment, we realize of how much she lost herself along the way without
realizing. And that's when Scarlet, the drag queen, intervenes and spin things around despite their ongoing minor feud some hours earlier. 10/10.
