Trivia In the 2022 documentary The Last Movie Stars (about Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman), Laura Linney recalled working on this movie with Woodward. Linney said that Woodward, who often taught acting classes and mentored young aspiring actors, had been one of her acting teachers and mentors, and in this telefilm, Woodward also cast several of her other students in small roles--including Mark Anthony Wade (Adam) and Allison Janney (Doreen). Another cast member, Emily Wachtel (Phyllis) moved into producing; in that capacity, she was a producer of The Last Movie Stars--in which Laura Linney (in addition to being interviewed as herself) also played the voice of Joanne Woodward.
