Sex & Nudity

  • Early on, a couple of coarse soldier characters make jokes about erections and having sex with Joan. These are mild.

Violence & Gore

  • A few scenes show what might be thought unsimulated animal cruelty (a horse has an iron shoe nailed on; a dead rabbit is skinned and then roasted).
  • Despite the title, there are very few battle scenes, and these are not bloody.

Profanity

  • A couple of times male characters say "Christ" in Joan's hearing and get soundly rebuked for blasphemy.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • This film takes place in the halcyon days before Europeans encountered tobacco.
