Fouad Mikati, director of the cartoonish action flick Operation: Endgame is switching up genres for his second film, the psychological thriller Return to Sender. Having just Rosamund Pike and Nick Noltecast its lead roles last week, the film is already in production in New Orleans. Manheim is of course known for her man years on the series The Practice and Ghost Whisperer and her last feature role was in Cornelia Moore.s adaptation of the novel Camilla Dickinson. • Amanda Seyfried may have started out playing teenage bombshells, but she’s defied the trap of typecasting and translated those beginnings into an interesting and diverse career including the high-profile Les Miserables and the upcoming porn-star biopic Lovelace. Now, she’s in talk to join director Noah Baumbach’s (Frances Ha) next project While We’re Young, alongside Ben Stiller, Naomi Watts (The Impossible), and Adam Driver (Girls). Patricia Beauchamp and Joe Gossett gave a screenplay to the postman, he put it in his sack, and bright and early the next morning... it was being filmed with Rosamund Pike, Shiloh Fernandez and Nick Nolte. Well Ok, maybe that isn't quite how Return To Sender found itself in production, but it's underway nevertheless, under the directorial eye of Fouad Mikati (Operation: Endgame). Not quite the Elvis-based rom-com its title might imply, this Return To Sender sounds a bit more sinister. It involves an uptight nurse in a small town (Pike) whose life changes irrevocably after a blind date with a guy (Fernandez) who turns out not to be all he seems. In the aftermath, Pike gets violent revenge on the person who set the date up has to rebuild her life and get back to being who she used to be. Nolte will be playing her father.THR's description...

You.d think people in movies would know better than to go out on blind dates nowadays, but they just keep on doing it. Do they ever work out? Comedies use them for wacky character fodder and dramas use them to create tension between strangers. And thrillers, of course, use them to put one of their characters in mortal danger. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rosamund Pike will be playing a small town damsel in distress in that scenario starring in Return to Sender, the upcoming psychological thriller directed by Fouad Mikati (Operation:Endgame). The film will also star Shiloh Fernandez (Evil Dead) and Nick Nolte (Gangster Squad). The screenplay was written by newcomer Patricia Beauchamp and Joe Gossett, who wrote Ryan Phillippe.s directorial debut Shreveport. The Christmas number one: a supposedly hallowed achievement, and yet both Mr Blobby and Bob The Builder have both walked away with it in the past. In recent years, the market immediately before Christmas has been over-populated by the deluge of “talented” winners from Simon Cowell’s pop processing plant on the moon (probably) and vocal dissenters seem to have turned the Christmas Number One into some sort of insipid personification of everything that is wrong with the music business.
But, there have been some shining lights in the history of the Christmas Number One, despite the infamous ear-bleeders and the outrageous stories of classic songs being overtaken for the accolade by awful one-hit-wonders. And this article is hereby devoted to listing said highlights.
Somewhat unthinkably, there is no place for “Fairytale of New York”, for which we can thank the Pet Shop Boys, whose cover of “Always On My Mind” took the 1987 spot,...

Surely, there’s no way a simple interview request could result in an investigation by the Independent Commission Against Corruption? Think again. Filmmaker James Ricketson says “in the Alice in Wonderland meets Kafka Comedy of Errors that is the Nsw government, such things are not only possible but par for the course!”
This is his story…
“If you have any evidence of corruption you should bring the material to the Icac’s attention,” writes the bureaucrat. “Icac has been established specifically to deal with allegations of corruption involving public authorities or public officials.”
This helpful advice from the office of the Director General of Industry and Investment Nsw is but the latest chapter in the ongoing saga of my attempt to conduct an interview with Ashley Luke about Screen Nsw’s Aurora initiative. This has been going on since Feb this year – an earlier chapter in this story can be found here.

Chicago – There have been TV cops in New York, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles and even Hawaii, 5-0, so it stands to reason that Memphis, Tennessee, would get its turn. Jason Lee (“My Name is Earl”) and Alfre Woodard are on the “Memphis Beat,” premiering June 22nd on the TNT Network.
TV Rating: 2.5/5.0
Lee portrays Memphis plainclothes detective Dwight Hendricks, an unconventional (are there any other type of TV cop?) who seems not just to live and work in Memphis, but completely embody the town within his DNA. As Dwight and his detective partner ‘Whitehead’ (Sam Hennings) are introduced, they are investigating a brutal convenience store robbery. There is some comic relief among the carnage, though, as a Barney Fife-type uniform Officer Sutton (DJ Qualls).

Return to Sender - As the Idols took on the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, few of the performances were anything to write home about. The title, The King, truly applies as Elvis has sold over 1 billion records. Adam Lambert, Season 8 runner-up, returned to mentor the night. There are actually many similarities between Adam and Elvis. The showmanship, the understanding of entertaining the audience, the hair, and the list goes on.
The 9 winged their way to Vegas via private jet to see the .Viva Elvis. show and rehearse. During their mentoring sessions with Adam (the first former contestant to be a mentor), our idols were given honest, constructive criticism. Above all he told them they needed more energy. Which couldn.t be more true with most of this sleepy (just ask Randy) bunch. Kudos to Adam for being the best mentor this season.

Despite doubling up on the eliminations thanks to Michael Lynche's save last week, there were no major upsets on Wednesday night's (April 14) "American Idol," as bottom-three regulars Andrew Garcia and Katie Stevens were sent into "AI" purgatory until this summer's tour. It was a surprisingly dry-eyed goodbye, as the two underperforming singers appeared resigned to their fate as "Idol" footnotes.
The eliminations came after a season-high 34 million votes were cast and, thankfully, the end came quickly for Andrew Garcia. Host Ryan Seacrest brought him out alongside Casey James and Aaron Kelly near the top of the show, and rather than putting him through the usual torture of waiting nearly 55 minutes to learn his fate,...

Dude here again. Well, it finally happened. There are no records left for Avatar to break. It's technically the most successful motion picture in history. It broke the international take last week, and then this previous week, on the day it was nominated for 9 Oscars, it overtook the Titanic record. So there's nothing left to talk about regarding big blue, and it's time to move on.
Oh, and none of you give me that "Adjusted for inflation" bullshit, because that's stupid.
