Oh. It’s love again.

New York is the city that never sleeps, and with so many events and activities each week across all five boroughs, it can be hard to know what’s actually worthwhile. Here are the events New York City actors should have on their radars this week. Let the sun shine in.It’s been 50 years since the rock musical “Hair” debuted and changed the face of American theater. To honor the half-centennial milestone and raise funds for the Public Theater (where “Hair” got its start), Diane Paulus will direct a benefit celebration. Featuring stage stars including Jonathan Groff, Caissie Levy, Will Swenson, Allison Case, and several more, the concert will be preceded by a cocktail reception and dinner at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall. Tickets are unfortunately exorbitant, but you can expect video footage to arise. (Tickets start at $750) Tony nominees will get in your face.

Donald Trump might have been “saddened” by the “worst ever” Emmy ratings, but he was also wrong, says Emmy host Stephen Colbert. "We had the second worst ratings of all time!,” Colbert boasted last night. “In your face!” Eventually launching into a chant of “We suck less!", the host of CBS’ The Late Show began the segment (watch it above) by commending Trump for his “strong and presidential” response to the disasters in Mexico City and Puerto Rico. “That lasted for about…...

Hollywood is hiring way more Muslim actors than ever before ... and President Trump might very well be the one to thank. Industry sources tell TMZ there's been a big uptick in the number of roles for Muslim actors this pilot season, and that TV networks are pushing for more Muslim-American story lines in primetime. For example ... Omar Metwally (CBS), Mouzam Makkar (NBC), Zainab Johnson (ABC), Adeel Akhtar (Fox) and Hasan Minhaj (Netflix) ... are all starring in pilots right now.

One of the highlights of San Diego Comic-Con 2016 was the release of the new Wonder Woman trailer. Coming in at slightly under three minutes, the footage was our best look yet at what version of Diana’s world we’ll be getting. And to be honest, it’s nearly perfect. An optimistic and opinionated Wonder Woman? Check. A charming Steve Trevor? Check. A variety of ethnicities among the Amazons? Check. A period piece worthy of Downton Abbey? Check. Fight scenes that make you wanna cheer? Check. In your face feminism? Check. Etta Candy!? Double check. In the video above (and below), HitFix Harpy’s Donna Dickens and Jill Pantozzi talk about how Warner Bros. and DC Films have sucked them in again. Despite past projects being lackluster, it’s hard to keep excitement and expectations in check for Wonder Woman’s first big screen solo outing!

John Hughes was, by his own admission, a very ordinary, non-exceptional kid. He didn’t even have a particularly noteworthy high school life, which is somewhat ironic given how effortlessly he managed to convey it in his film work.
He may not have been the kid he portrayed in his movies, but he related to them and wanted to show the world they weren’t as bad as other films routinely made them out to be. One of Hughes’ defining characteristics was his ability to see teenagers not as kids or as young adults, but as people. This, in turn, ensured that his films connected with a sizeable audience.
But Hughes wasn’t just about love triangles, prom nights and cliques – he was so multi-layered and moved away from the teen films that brought him so much success, writing side-splitting comedies and romantic dramas, replacing the teens with twenty somethings and families.

"In your face, Neil Armstrong." 20th Century Fox has unveiled the first full trailer for Ridley Scott's The Martian, adapted from Andy Weir's novel. Matt Damon stars as astronaut Mark Watney, the leader of one of the first manned missions to Mars, however he ends up stranded there. You'll see the rest of the story in the trailer, as it sets up a fascinating and exciting story of survival against all odds. This kind of fits in nicely as a prequel to Interstellar, but it also seems to stand alone as an invigorating new space exploration entry. The movie seems to have an expanded focus on a number of characters, including the rest of the crew but also many back on Earth. It gets really good when Damon begins to figure out how to survive by himself. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Ridley Scott's The Martian,...

How are you feeling?
"A bit weird. Oh God, I'm a bit nervous still. But to be honest, I'm glad to be out now. To know who's gone in the house, I don't think I'd like them at all. I watched their VTs and they just made complete helmets of themselves."
You were quite emotional last night about leaving – why?
"They were real friends, real motherf**king friends!"
You didn't get any nominations so are you annoyed about how that worked?
"Proper annoyed. I can see why I'm out, because it was four out of six.

Whilst films like "Gravity" and "Interstellar" have seen a welcome return of proper science fiction to the cinema, both have also had a strong dose of emotional sentimentality to try and get people not normally into this often cold genre onboard.
From George Clooney's home-spun tales and Sandra Bullock's life affirmation, to Matthew McConaughey's corn-fed pining for his daughter and the infamous 'library in space' third act, both films struggled to be as authentic as possible until it didn't suit the story. This has understandably led to criticisms from both reviewers and the scientific community who believe the New Age pseudo-science convention undermined the films in order to appeal to the 'cheap seats'.
As such, those people are seeking something more objective, serious and credible. It sounds like Ridley Scott, a filmmaker famous for not dealing in sentimentality, may have delivered that with his upcoming sci-fi flick...

Not even starring in “Jurassic World” could prepare Chris Pratt for the prehistoric power of 6-year-old dinosaur expert Noah Ritter. Pratt appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Thursday and played a game of “Dino Right or Dino Wrong” against the tyke. The two were asked a series of dinosaur trivia questions, with each correct answer earning them a point. Ritter could barely contain his excitement, dancing his way through the game as he repeatedly beat Pratt to the punch on a wide range of questions. Ritter added insult to injury when he yelled at Pratt, “In your face!” See Video: Chris Pratt.

After being teased and taunted by Fifty Shades of Grey movie trailers for so long (foreplay?), we’ve finally seen it. And it’s not at all what we expected it to be. Here are all the ways the adaptation of E.L. James’ “S&M for soccer moms” surprised us:
1. It’s actually...not bad! Or not that bad. You can decide for yourself whether you think it’s that good, but it’s definitely a lot better than it could -- or should -- be. There are problems, and we’ll get into those below, but considering the source material they had to work with, the end result is a pleasantly watchable, occasionally enjoyable movie.

Chicago - Look past the cheesy carbs and b-boy poses, this shiny mo-cap reboot of cartoon juggernaut “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” offers slick entertainment that makes for a welcome surprise for middle school fare. Proving that executive producer Michael Bay has both grown up but it still frightfully in tune with what jazzes teens, this surprise box office hit is indeed a nice slice of a blockbuster spectacle, whether or not a viewer cares about the turtles or not.

It sounded so surreal, we had to double-check it wasn't April Fools' Day when we first heard the news. A BBC theme park is in the early stages of development, and could arrive as early as 2020.
You could be riding the Only Fools and Horses wurlitzer or bashing against Nick Hewer and Karren Brady on The Apprentice dodgems in only 6 years' time. It may sound ridiculous, but the success of the Harry Potter Studio Tour suggests that cashing on huge entertainment franchises isn't actually a bad idea and might even work.
Here are our 9 best suggestions for possible rides. Any profits resulting from their success can be sent in an envelope to Digital Spy Towers.

Rob counts down the top 50 episodes of TV's longest-running animated series, The Simpsons...
Since its debut in 1989, across 552 episodes and 25 seasons, The Simpsons has become one of the most revered and beloved TV programmes of all time. It’s a true cultural phenomenon that’s influenced not just animation, but all areas of TV comedy and sitcom. For so many of us, its quotes and catchphrases have permeated our everyday vernacular, from single words like “crisitunity” and “embiggen” to phrases “you don’t win friends with salad” and “everything’s coming up Milhouse.”
Personal opinions may vary, but for me the show’s peak years were from season 4 through to 10. They’re consistently funny, all killer and no filler runs with barely a dud episode to be found between 1992-1998. Past this point the standard becomes a little more mixed, and recent seasons have been distinctly average at best. The...

The...

If you haven't had quite enough poshery after the return of Made in Chelsea on Sunday night, you might want to stay tuned to E4 for brand new import Almost Royal! The show - which aired on BBC America in the States - sees Ed Gamble and Amy Hoggart playing Georgie and Poppy Carlton, a brother and sister (very distantly) in line to the throne. They go on a tour around America in tribute to their dearly departed father... but all the Americans they meet are actually real people. Think Borat, with posh English folk.
We caught up with Ed and Amy to bring you a guide to the show - from Made in Chelsea to why Wills and Kate should be jealous to Poppy and Georgie's weird love for Rick Moranis...
1. The American people in the show are "completely clueless" that it's a set up.

Ever since Peter Capaldi was cast as the 12th Doctor in the long-running sci-fi hit Doctor Who, he’s met with an overwhelming and unprecedented level of support and approval. Fans and critics alike have praised the casting choice of Capaldi as the Time Lord hero. Can he live up to expectations?
The strength of Doctor Who has always been change. The show changes its locations and even its time period every episode. And every few years, it changes its star. There have been 11 leading men on the show so far, and a 12th—Peter Capaldi—makes his debut next month. Change has always kept the show fresh, explaining why new episodes are still being produced 51 years after its 1963 debut. Changing the actor who portrays the Doctor is part-and-parcel of the series now, and the casting of a new Doctor is always big news for sci-fi fans, especially in England...

Yes, another day, another anniversary. But this one is quite noteworthy. Spike Lee's "Do the Right Thing" turns 25 on Monday. It is a film I first saw when I was young, but I wasn't at all ready for it. I saw it again in film school and noticed I had grown with it, but it still whipped up complex feelings (as only the best films can). I've revisited it a number of times over the years and come to cherish it as one of the greatest pieces of cinema ever conjured, but the Academy frankly seemed like it was holding its nose just to give it the two nominations it received a quarter century ago. Kim Basinger had the right idea when the night of the Oscars came. "The best film of the year is not even nominated [for Best Picture] and it's 'Do the Right Thing,'" the "Batman" star said,...

Spike Lee's most powerful and most provocative 'joint' brings racial tension to the boil over one stifling day in New York's Bed-Stuy neighbourhood. Centring around Danny Aiello's proudly Italian pizza parlour, the eclectic denizens - played by Rosie Perez, Bill Nunn, John Turturro, Giancarlo Esposito, Martin Lawrence, Samuel L Jackson and Lee himself - air grievances and trade jibes until someone takes it all too far. In your face from the moment Public Enemy assault your eardrums over the opening credits.

Not everyone can pull off a stunning mugshot. In fact, most can’t. In fact, only Jane Fonda, Suzanne Somers, and these 10 men can pull it off. In honor of Justin Bieber‘s photogenic brush with law enforcement, here are the 10 gents who do jail realness best. (I didn’t include the men convicted of actually maiming somebody else. Let this be a lesson to you, Sid Vicious.)
10. Hugh Grant
If you’re charmed by Hugh Grant on film, you can’t help but be wooed by his similarly impish, visibly uncomfortable work here. I love that his hair and choice in t-shirt prints are both divine and brown.
9. Justin Bieber
Look, Justin Bieber’s fine work in mugshot mugging can’t be denied. His hair hasn’t lost its cockatiel magic and he still has that adorable Christopher Robin glint in his eye. Hell, he looks like a perfectly salable Proactiv “before” photo.

It's official: the first lady is also a basketball star! Well, sort of. During the Miami Heat's recent visit to the White House, Michelle Obama teamed up with some of their best players to promote her Let's Move campaign, letting loose in this epic video promotion. While Dwyane Wade and Ray Allen were busy talking about healthy eating, Michelle photobombed them before dunking on a basketball hoop held up by LeBron James. Her hilariously evil cackle says it all, along with LeBron saying, "In your face!" Watch the awesome video below.

Way way back in August, James Arthur seemed like a pretty nice bloke, Busted and McFly were two separate entities and mugs weren't terrified of Huey Morgan.
