Warning: Spoilers
"Les oursins" or "Sea urchins" is an 11-minute short film by French animal documentary pioneer Jean Painlevè from 1958, so this one is already almost 60 years old. And still the use of color here tells audiences (compared to his many black-and-white films) that this one is not from the early days of his career. However, it is not from the very late days either. It is about sea urchins and it all depends on your attitude towards the subject. I personally do not find them too interesting and that's why I did not enjoy this documentary too much. It may be a better watch for biologists than for general audiences. I will admit though that the colors here definitely help in keeping this from even less interesting. Still, overall, I do not recommend the watch. Thumbs down.
