• Narrator : And of course, there are queens for every sport!... Here is the Snowshoe Queen... The Empress of Ski!... And yes, here is the girling curl. I mean, the Curling Girl... And, at last, the Queen of them all: Reine du Carnaval!

• Narrator : The spirit of Carnaval rules the show as all of Quebec brings floats and gaiety to the streets.

• Narrator : The Scots version of lawn bowling brings out the brooms and the big, cold curling stones. The stone is sent on its way across the ice to the tee, as fast-moving brooms draw it along almost magically... The speed and course of the stone is controlled by how these ladies handle the sweep!

• Narrator : [on women's curling]  Here goes another one! The girls shake a mean bundle of straws. The stones glide smoothly across the ice.

• Narrator : Night is turned into day - and out into the streets they spill, for the gala climax!
