Mediocre comedy.

This is the kind of movie that made the new wave so necessary in late fifties France."Julie la rousse" was first a song that was a big hit.The movie has no (or so little) connection with the story. Its composer (René-Louis Lafforgue) sings it in the movie for those who care.

What about the story? It's a trite love affair, thwarted by problems of inheritance.Pascale Petit and Daniel Gelin are the main assets of the film, but their parts are uninteresting.A crude case of mistaken identity invites the audience to laugh at homosexuals one more time. This dumb sequence is a reason to avoid this insipid comedy.
