After robbing Major Cavalli of a load of gold, Lupine discovers a small ancient amphora dirty with a strange substance transported together with gold. It is part of the collection of Count Forlano, which his wife wants to sell to the Italian government. Lupine learned of the gold through Fulvia, one of his infiltrators. Later Lupine is recognized by the countess Forlano and agrees with her, after saving her daughter Antonia, under psychiatric care from the death of the father for whom she feels responsible. Antonia also knows the place where the count's diaries are hidden and ends up hospitalized in the clinic of Dr. Martini, in the pay of the fascist regime. The situation is becoming increasingly tangled and it will take Dr. Freud's intervention to see a solution.
