The title is a spoof of the name of a hugely successful Broadway musical from 1925, "No, No, Nanette".
The "Bryan" mentioned in an intertitle refers to William Jennings Bryan and his then-recent participation in the famed "Scopes Monkey Trial," later dramatized in "Inherit the Wind."
This was the first time Laurel and Hardy worked together for Hal Roach, though it requires an asterisk, as Laurel did not appear onscreen, only co-directing it.
