Hugh Herbert was certainly funnier with his mouth full, in the hospital having his temperature taken. The series of funny noises he makes with a thermometer in his mouth are genuinely laugh out loud moments. For some reason this sanitarium has a lot of wacky situations going on including a man walking around with no head, a demonic dog barking on a wall decoration and hands massaging Herbert's face while he's in bed. Dudley Dickerson is very funny as Herbert's chauffer even if his material is stereotypical and cliched comedy for his Eddie "Rochester" Anderson like character. The fact that there's escaped convicts from a nearby prison stalking the practically empty sanatarium provides an explanation, but the visuals are very funny. However, overall, this is one of the darker Columbia shorts, and even a bit violent.
