Similar story as Paul Newman's Rachel Rachel. Old maid wants to marry and don't find anyone, until she met the good man, who is not exactly her kind of guy. Director André Brassard and author Michel Tremblay team up in many theatrical succes in Quebec, by that time. They did not succeed in movies. This film of two hours should be a 85 minutes movie. There are very long moments, and weak ones. Sometimes, we don't really know why a scene was shot. By the time, in Quebec, everybody wants to make movies. So there was very ugly films and pretty good one too. Here, Brassard looks like a young kid having fun with his first camera. Sometimes, actors just stands in front of the camera, like in a theatrical play. Also, some vulgarity, especially with women's clothes, seems absolutely stupid, when it's supposed to make us laugh. Despites all these awful things, theatrical actress Rita Lafontaine gives a warm performance, but stand-up comic Yvon Deschamps should stay at home! There are also some vulgarity in the language. I hope that someone from USA or Europe who sees that don't think that movies in Quebec were all like that in the 1970's.
