When the fire alarm ring,s Fire Chief Scrappy and fire man Oopie are ready to race to the scene and fight to stop the conflagration. The horse whole pulls the fire wagon, however, would prefer to remain abed.
It's one of the better of the Dick Huemer Scrappies, with a nicely composed series of gags -- albeit some that would be re-used frequently -- and the usual absurd idea that these two young cartoon infants are holding down adult-sized jobs. Within the context of the series -- what would today be called the Scrappyverse, no doubt -- that essential silliness added a frisson to the general fun.
