Once again, a mother -- in this case, a mother mouse -- orders her youngster not to wander out of the neighborhood. Once again, the youngster disobeys. He winds up crossing the railroad tracks, where Rat-Face teaches him how to steal milk off porches and pick pockets..... or tries to, anyway.
It's directed by Les Kline. He worked for Walter Lantz for about forty years, spending the vast majority of his career as an animator (he also drew some of Lantz' Christmas cards). A large part of Lantz staff worked for him and no one else. Apparently, he treated his employees a lot better than the other Walt who ran a cartoon studio.
Along the way, Kline was credited as director of eight cartoons. If they're like this one, they are derivative, obvious and the gags are badly timed.
